THIS, at least after my first night, which is typically degen mode though some trips that first night I try and get to bed by midnight (feels like 3 am EST), which usually has meant not having crazy losses the first day. Sometimes I am so excited I can't go to sleep. A nice hot bath with some wine tends to do the trick. I like the Encore beds.

What's all this talk about sleeping in Vegas?
I've been going to Vegas for 16 years with the belief that sleeping is not permitted.

Yeah, much like eating and shows - gets in the way of gambling.

On a serious note, sleeping there is troublesome, for years. Doubt it will ever improve.

You know........either Benadryl or a nighttime cold/flu medicine works very well for me.

i never have an issue sleeping there, several times I forget to turn my phone alarm off and it wakes me up for normal work time...hell, I fell asleep in the jacuzzi tub at CP with it running, for almost 2 weeks I had a line of overlapping circles down my back from the jet nozzel giving me hickeys as i slid down slowly, lol

I'm the guy with the fan that I take along on my trips for noise while I'm sleeping. I also have a problem with the window coverings that never close tightly and end up having slivers of light "spoil" the darkness in the room. I bring binder clips with me to try to keep the drapes together and overcome the problem. But, since the exteriors are lit up so brightly with those prison-yard flood lights, seems like there are rarely rooms where I can get it completely dark. My wife labels me a vampire, needing total darkness and all. So, sleep can be a problem for me. I've known people who use sleep masks successfully. But, it's not for me.

Due to my frequent irregular work hours I'm used to adjusting my sleep cycle. In Las Vegas I'll usually stay up later than I do on a "normal" night but I click right into it.

The funny think about my wake-sleep patterns, I can fly west, even to Hawaii, and sleep normally at the same clock hours. However, if I go more than one timezone east, I'm jetlagged for a few days, really.

I don't sleep well in Vegas. Mainly because of a bad ankle. But, I'll stay up until 2am-3am, sleep until about 8am-9am. Get some breakfast, play until about 1pmish, then try to take a nap.
I usually take an Alive PM, and that helps a bit at least.

    Thanks {blush} :)

There's actually a Vegas-related story behind that. Several years ago I was driving and I got stopped in one of those stupid sobriety checkpoints. I admitted to having a few casino drinks and sure enough they had me out there standing on one foot, touching my nose with my eyes closed, reciting the alphabet backwards and such while my so-called friends were sitting in the car very loudly laughing their @$$es off at me! Fortunately they let me go with a warning but I am still teased about it to this day.

And, OBTW, in case I change it again, the avatar being referred to is this one:

I'm jetlagged from the 3 hour time difference, plus I don't sleep well in hotels anyway. I will go as hard as I can until I crash, sleep for a few hours, and my body's east coast alarm clock goes off at 3AM after which time I'm just attempting to snooze a little. As soon as the light starts creeping in the window at the buttcrack of dawn, I'm up.

No meds needed - I sleep great anywhere :) I go to the hotel fitness center most (or all) mornings in Vegas to maintain my normal exercise routine.

Thanks to the US Army I have honed my "sleep anywhere anytime" skills to a razor sharp edge.
If I'm tired enough to go to bed, I'm out.

I go to bed once I find myself nodding at the tables or machines. Drink a pedialyte washed down with 3 Tylenol. Wake up after 3-6 hours for a pee and guzzle some more water. Wake up again after a few hours and start my day.

I generally have no trouble getting to sleep in Vegas, but I can't sleep in in Vegas.
