Just found out some friends will be in Vegas for a few hours in the day I arrive.
They don't want to wander off from the Excalibur to eat and I know nothing about this end of the strip as I stay either mid strip or downtown.
There has to be a decent steakhouse or other upscale restaurants at that end of the strip.

I never hear many talk about eating at Excal - you do have Dicks Resort - different, but some enjoy it

You can walk across the street to NYNY with some good choices - steakhouse, italian, irish pub

Upscale and Excal do not seem to work well together. Steakhouse at NYNY and Italian are decent.

Not really any upscale at the castle. But it is connected to Mandalay Bay (either by walkways through Luxor or the tram outside) and there are plenty of upscale options there: Auerole, Kumi, Fleur, RM Seafood

No idea how good or bad it is, but there is the Camelot Steakhouse at Excalibur. Personally, I'd lean toward taking the tram from Excalibur of Mandalay Bay and eating at RM Seafood.

Just walk across to NYNY and have something decent. Not much going on in excalibur.

Excalibur steakhouse is okay. Tender in luxor is a notch or two above. Gallagher's in NY NY is also a good option. Mandalay bay has a bunch of stuff as well. That corner of the strip is my favorite place to stay

Well, if you're walking that far, might as well list Rubochon at MGM. Its the best fine dining on the Strip

    Agree with this.

Probably would be better to clarify how much they're willing to spend before recommending a meal that costs more than their hotel room.

I would definitely go to Mandalay. Much better options. Love Aureole. What's the budget? There's some ok options in Luxor that aren't pricey.

The Krispy Kreme on the second floor may cost more than the room :poke: But you are right (and I assumed the OP's friends will check any recommendations online before making reservations), Rubochon is pricey

I like the Camelot Steakhouse at Excalibur. Good food, reasonable prices.

    Thanks everyone for the replies.
Since I just got word that they will have a few hours of overlapping time with me in Vegas I don't know what they are thinking as far as price ranges type of food or much of anything else.
I happened to be browsing the forum for ideas on what else to do in Vegas when I got his text asking about when I was getting into town.
I'm good with any price for a meal as long as I'm getting a great meal for my money.
I travel a lot for work and I've eaten far too many meals in high end restaurants that have sadly not held up to their end of the bargain while charging the equivalent of some people's weekly take home pay.
Once we are a bit closer to the date we are there-- late afternoon-7 pm on march 31st and I have a better idea of type of place they are looking to dine at I'll pull this thread back up.

I have not been there for ages, but it's a real trip! You need to have a sense of humor and kind of a thick skin. Not for prudes at all!
