We are going on a Cruise end of February. Couldn't get a room at the Casino, Mardi Gras time, staying at the Westin one night. After Cruise staying at the Casino one night. What is the best way to get from the airport to Hotel. Is Uber available?
I'm sure Uber is available but all cabs from airport to Downtown/Bourbon St/French Quarter have a flat rate. When I went in April I believe it was $35. You cannot get long hauled!
yes we do have uber and lyft here...there are several ways but the most common way will be out the airport and down airline hwy to the airport access road, that will take you to the interstate and a straight shot to new orleans as you land 2 cities over in Kenner...depending on the day and time you land could be an issue with Mardi Gras, early and no parades then you will sail right in...parade or after 5pm and you may be stuck in traffic and rerouted who knows where...traffic turns into a clusterF and the police make it worse blocking streets
I'm guessing you're going on the dawn leaving the 26th. I'll be on the same cruise. I'm glad I made reservations about 6 months ago for Harrahs on the front end.
I just used Uber a couple weeks ago in New Orleans to get to the Hilton across from Harrah's. They have a similar setup like Vegas where there's a staging area for Uber/Lyft. Cost me $33.
if you dont have a shit ton of luggage, ill pick you up at the airport and drop you off at whatever hotel for $15...uber/cab undercut, lol
Yes we are on the Dawn. Only could get room at the Westin, but coming back staying one night at the Casino.
its up to you, i live not far from the airport...airport to casino its roughly a 20 minute ride depending on traffic
never really noticed these around, sure they have been here forever Just didnt notice, but took this yesterday, maybe its cheaper than a cab
Airport shuttles in NOLA are only slightly cheaper than the $33 flat rate on Uber, plus they're cramped for leg room, they zig and zag all over the Quarter/CBD, and you're inevitably among the last dropped off, so it takes forever. Best to pay Uber the $33 guaranteed and just live with it.
