In order to get 150k tier credits it would involve playing higher than I normally play and it would involve more trips to LV (probably 4 or 5 trips, compared to the 2 trips we normally take), are the benefits of just the 7* status worth it?

I understand comps are based on ADT, so if I play higher I will get more comps, but what about the value of 7* status itself? the cruise, the dinner, the free rooms, the line cutting, etc. are those perks in them self worth shooting for 7*?

    It very well could be . . . .

@OP . . Not knowing what games you play or what your entertainment budget is for the year, or how close you are to a CET casino, I would have to say.

On a good year, I have spent $20,000 to make 7*, on a bad year, much much more, but I live within 4 hours drive of 3 CET casinos and go to Las Vegas 4-6 times a year, making the benefits much more available.

I don't use the cruise, Las Vegas golf or spa comps, but do use the "free" trips. I'm going to New Orleans for my 7* retreat on Wednesday and have almost $2000 worth of GGWU points to spend at the end of the year.

I make the "judgement" of whether or not to pursue 7* once I make DAL2 (Diamond Aspiration Level 2).

I'm pretty sure I would not start betting more or going to Vegas more often just for 7 Stars. It's really difficult to be able to take advantage of all the perks anyways. This is my 4th year of 7 Stars and I still have not made it to a celebration event. I've used the cruise twice, but I get about 10-15 free cruises each year already. The $1200 airfare and the $500 food credit are nice. One of the perks they advertise doesn't even exist. The upgrade to best available room. For a 7 Stars player I have a low theo, so Planet Hollywood will not upgrade me to anything unless I fight with a host for 10 minutes. The line passes to restaurants and cab lines is very helpful.

I would guess it is well worth it because so many well respected people (such as @DaiLun ) have done it.
I do believe those who have done it must have a bigger bankroll than mine.

It depends but keep in mind the important rule about chasing comps.

I too have never used the cruise benefit but I like the Diamond Aspiration 2 trip, which includes $750 in airfare, and the annual Seven Stars retreat, which includes $500 in comps and $1200 in airfare plus the Seven Stars lounges and events in Atlantic City.

That being said, at the end of the day, ADT as they say is KING. I've had better slot play offers when I was Diamond and my ADT may have been higher and while I like the benefits above, booking flights with CET is a total PITA. For my April Vegas trip, I just went ahead and used FF miles to fly on Virgin America because the host can't book trips for this year with 2017 benefits until after February 1st and I knew by the time the CET travel folks got around to it that the fares would be higher. I came out way ahead using points and saving my CET airfare comps for later in the year.

I go to AC about once a month on average for the weekend or a Friday to Saturday and being Seven Stars means that even during a super busy weekend, I can get a room, but I think if I were Diamond with a high ADT the same would be true.

Now that Wynncore has become my base in Las Vegas, even the CET comped rooms are not a big deal for me in Vegas as it has been three trips since I have stayed in a CET property in Vegas. I now can stay at Wynncore for my long trips (9 to 10 days, all comped) and some up front comps, with the ability based on play for backend comps. Plus, the service is spectacular. While giving CET some play while in Vegas I basically book the rooms for relatives who may be traveling with me and for the offers. And regarding the airfares, if I could take back some of the losses last year tied to earning 150k Tier Credits and just spend $2k in airfare in lieu of the Seven Stars comped airfare benefits, I'd be way ahead.

I'm Seven Stars because of my heavy play in AC. I wasn't trying to make Seven Stars but it turned out that way based on my regular AC play. There is no way, however, that I'd be trying to make Seven Stars unless based on play I was super close. At that point the marginal benefit of smart play (say VP on multiplier benefits), might be worth getting those last few points to get to 150k and the Seven Stars benefits that come with them. I wouldn't start off the year, however, saying, "okay, what's my plan for getting from zero to 150k tier credits?" It could wind up being an expensive plan that is not worth it.

    I agree.

If you play like a sonofabitch and 7 Scars comes your way, that's great! That's just a benefit for how you play. I just cringe when I read people talking about going 4 more times than they normally would, or bringing 5 times their normal bankroll....... There is no way it can be worth it for them!

If you lose $50,000 to get "free suites and five star meals", wouldn't it be better to lose the normal $15,000 and pay $10,000 for the "comps"?

Degenerate gambling is my only reason.

I am a Diamond aspiration 1. I have never used the Cruises, not my kind of trip. I probably get 4 offers per week from Caesars. I only use the ones for when I want to go. I give up a lot of tournaments, free stuff, etc. Rooms are free, food , drink, shows. I am 56 and do not chase comps. It is where I used to want to play. I have lost my interest in this loyalty. I am running out my card . I can still go to these casinos, without the losing with the gambling odds.

No one has really mentioned how much you would realistically cost to just go for the 7* status. My thought was that it wouldn't cost "that much" especially if you go for 2500pt bonuses. I could be very wrong though

depends on your game of choice and how you play...ive done it a few times and my first time I done it really quick, but I was winning everytime I got on the tables...next year I done it again but winning didnt happen much at all

as for the OP, going from diamond to 7* takes a lot of play which will get you lots more offers, lots more gift, special event invitations and comped junket trips...my first year I got to the point I had to tell them, "look, I do have to work sometimes"

over the years they have cut back on benefits but it is still nice, if you think you can handle all of the above, go for it...

As I said, one year it cost me $20,000 out of pocket but I had 18 W2-Gs that year. Last year I only had 8 W2-Gs, and it cost me substantially more. However, last year I didn't really have a strategy, and made 7* way too early in the year..

I have calculated that you can make 7* in thirteen 2500TC days if you have a strategy and optimize your bonuses. What it costs you to get those thirteen 2500TC days is the key.

To run those numbers without anything beyond the standard bonuses... that's 20 days at $12,500 coin-in (slots) (2500 TCs, plus 5000 TC bonus each day.) factoring in a 5% house edge (just for the easy math) yields a theo of $625 loss/day for 20 days for a total theo loss of $12,500 ($625 x 20) for 7*. If you can only commit 10 days and can manage $25,000 coin-in per day, the math works out the same ((5000TC + 10,000TC Bonus) x 10 days).

With all the take from my card, for RFB, shows , resort fees, parking and breathing, I know I will not need this Reward Card after it runs out. I can free range.

I believe the avg house edge on a slot machine on the strip is closer to 8.5%

how can you do it in 13 2500TC days? 13*2500=32500, even with the 5k bonus each day your still looking at 97500, and your 42500 shy

I should have specified "renewal", and it's somewhere between thirteen and fourteen 2500TC days. Each year, you start with 10-15K TC from the previous year. In Q2 there is (at least every year I've participated) a 50% bonus (maximum 25,000), that accounts for 35K-40K TC, and if you're short at the EOY, there are casinos that offer 1.5x for TC.

This year I will be attempting to renew 7* in a minimal number of 2500TC days.

oohh, that makes a lot of sense, can do it for 14 days of play to renew but 20 days of play to get it the first time
