Will be interesting to see if they truly do just let it ride if the Pack beat the Falcons, 76K is hard to walk from!!!

As a Packer fan I would have to take some profits after the Falcons game. Keep $50K and let the rest ride.

Although as I am typing this I feel that I would keep kicking myself if they would win the Super Bowl. $78000 bet at +300 on the moneyline against the Patriots? walking away with over $300,000.

Geez, don't know what I would do in there situation

Cool story, I would be compelled to take some money off the table if they beat the Falcons. It's still a good story if they cash in $8000 and bet $70K on the SB.

I don't think the ML against the Pats will be +300, that seems high but regardless they will still turn a huge profit if the pack goes all the way.

Now, they can sit back and wait for a bill from the IRS on the money they "won", but no longer have!

(I wonder if that ever happened to anyone?)

Interesting. Each win stands on it's own. And all wins from 2016 are reportable on 2016 tax forms. Those is 2017 (only) are washed out with the big loss yesterday.

Hindsight is 20/20. Given the injuries I think I would of halved the bet on GB and then with two weeks off to recover/repair I would jump back on the bandwagon. They (GB) were at a decided disadvantage injury-wise. I think the euphoria of "running the table" and Rodgers' aura swayed the line a bit but emotional probably influenced bettors more. It happens to me with favorite teams of mine and I usually look back and say WTF?

I said he should have locked some up....I felt like my Falcons were going to win, but didn't expect a total blowout!

I posed the question here to my coworkers and the consensus was that he should have banked some of the win (stop-loss of 50% felt right to me). And a result like yesterday justifies that thinking. Guessing he thought they would indeed go all the way to a SB win so he put his money where his mouth/head was.

Well their 2016 tax bill should only hit the Week 16 game. Which I'm guessing was somewhere in the $2k-3k neighborhood, right?

But they better save that losing NFC Championship game ticket for any potential IRS audit on their 2017 return!
