I am by no means a downtown guy, but is there a need or market for this? Where would you be taking a pedicab?

This is interesting. I don't see a need from casino to casino downtown. And if it's for businesses downtown I still don't see the need. How far can you go in one of them?

I can see the use if you want to go from the El Cortez to MSS but otherwise not sure, guess you can use it if you want to avoid the crowds. The article expects it to be used in the Fremont Street East area.

I doubt they can use it on the FSE so basically you will be travelling the back and side streets to get around.

$10 to $15 fares? Okay, show of hands how many of us expect this to last less than a year downtown? I can see it being used on the strip but doubt they will make a lot of money downtown.

Are there boundaries about how far you can go with these? Like could I take one to Gold and Silver as an example or maybe to the Outlet mall? The price seems a little steep also.

Yeah, I could see going from The D to East Fremont, or something like that. But, I would have to slap someone that took it from Binions to Plaza.

Didn't they have them on the strip briefly several years ago (or am I thinking of somewhere else)? I have used them in NYC and Boston and they are great for getting through traffic.

Totally agree but we would use it to go from the Plaza to El Cortez and Back, bring it on....

So rather than getting from point a-point b you don't suppose it is more of a ride around the park sort of thing to see the sights and be seen? I agree it is a compact area for such but probably no space for luggage so the airport is out.

I don't see much of a market. Surely they won't be allowed on Fremont Street.

Back when people were scared to walk to and from El Cortez this might have made sense. Absolutely no way these things are allowed on Fremont. Sounds like they agreed to follow taxicab rules on pickup and drop off. Longest walk I take is leaving El Cortez to eat breakfast at the Cal, I'd not pay fifteen dollars to cut that from fifteen minutes to five. Plus, what is the point of a seatbelt if you are strapping yourself to a one hundred fifty pound vehicle?

Even at my laziest I wouldn't be likely to use an uber/lyft to get from El Cortez to MSS so a pedibike is no temptation. Even hammered I can still stumble from the west side of downtown to the east in under 30 minutes with a couple stops.

As an aside if the Stevens and Boyd were smart they would build an overpass over Ogden between the Cal and the LVC development for mutual benefit and a Sly FU to the Plaza.

Not likely to happen. 2 different companies so doubtful Boyd would chip in for that. Besides, can just cross the street to get to the new development.

Actually I thought I heard that they were going to put a parking structure in the area behind the coaches between MSS and the Plaza so I would think they would put an overpass across main st. to get from the parking structure and the new hotel.

Derek bought the lot with the trains on it across from LVA and between MSS and Plaza. Sold the trains. They will be moved

I would guess Derek will use that lot for building equipment while he builds the Las Vegas Club replacement. When the new resort is finished he will build a parking garage with bridge to his new resort. Just a guess......

I might use it between ElCo and the Plaza or MSS, but I wouldn't pay more than $5 + $1 tip... for two people? I could see paying $10 total.
$15? Hell, a CAB would probably be less than that! Uber or Lyft as well.
