Back when the Hilton was open in AC, I was playing on table with a much older dealer who clearly wasnt a newbie dealing a fun game of BJ. Well, table was doing great at first and then it got real bad so then he fake busted believe it or not and we all didn't say anything and looked at each other....again he did a few hands later. Full table turned into just me an my sister playing. So, then he taps my losing hand as a push I start to tell him something he pretty much tells me to keep quiet. Me and my sister honestly believed he was trying to get fired or something, because he made a few of our losing hands to pushes.

I consider myself a moral person. But I'm not perfect. I don't think there is anyone here or anywhere that can claim they have lived a perfect moral life.

That is precisely why pointing them out is wrong, it is not always an accident. The bottom line is it is not our job to correct the dealers, the casino is not your friend, the playing field is not equal, it is designed for you to lose.

Yet, you will correct a dealer if he shorts you. For that $5, his job isn't all that important anymore.

What is your agenda? Why does it bother you when people voice their opinions on the matter? Each of us is free to do as we please, are we not?

No agenda. I just can't fathom how people take what isn't theirs. I promise this will be my last post in this thread. I just keep getting madder, and nothing I say will change anything. I don't have to live in your skin.

I've done things in my life I'm not proud of, but they happened when I was young and had a differant view of things. Now if something isn't mine I don't want it.

I've also done things I'm not proud of, but sitting quietly at a BJ table as the dealer misspays me is way, way down on the list. :D

Those are some sweet moments, the dealer just paid the table, no one said a word, you pause a second before you pick up your chips, then you make eye contact with another player, he give you that little look, and you both raise your eyebrows and smile wryly!

How do you feel about BJ payouts going from3/2 to 6/5, how do you feel about resort fee's, how about parking fee's, how about changing payout tables in VP, does any of that get you mad? The last thing I'm going to do is feel sorry for the poor casino because i get miss paid once per trip.

I made a withdrawal at an ATM and it was erratically spitting out my money. I thought it was odd so I counted it. I was given $20 more. I took the $20 in the bank and the tellers had this stunned look on their faces. One said "no one has ever brought an over pay, people usually come in for underpays"

I'm glad you're walking away from this, as it is very obvious this subject irks you to no end. When a subject matter bothers me I feel it's best to just walk away. (I state my case first, of course.)

After that, that's all we can do.

I typically (not always) point it out because something about karma and doing the right thing. Karma has yet to pay me back though.

Many years ago (at the Silver Slipper...which will give you some idea about how far back), my buddy & I were playing a 4-deck shoe... back then, they actually checked their hole card on any Ace or X up... every time it happened & the dealer didn't have blackjack, she would hit our hands or tell us "you're good", not even giving us a chance to play the hand ourselves...and every time, it was a favor to us.

I balked once when she went to hit my hard 18, saying "whoa there...hold on!"... she calmly said - "you need a card"... I sheepishly looked at her & signaled for a hit...I busted, but she had 20 anyway.
After a while, I asked her if she was worried about her job & she told me "no... this place won't be around much longer"... and, of course, she was correct.

And no - I don't consider that I was "cheating" when that happened. She only paid winning hands & she took all losers... and pushed properly... she improperly applied her knowledge as dealer to give us an unfair advantage.
I didn't report her to the gaming commission or the casino manager... hope that doesn't make me an unethical, immoral cheat.
    /sarcasm.

As I said earlier I play straight forward low roller craps so any errors in my favor are glaringly obvious. Someone pushes a center bet win at me that belongs to some other player I won't get near it. But if my two way hard six bet was supposed to fall and it didn't, that's between the dealer and the boss.

Now one trip to my local boat I met an old friend and we sat at three different poker games and I was just putting chips in the circles and trying to learn. The dealer misread her own hand, so I asked my friend why is she paying me when she has that. He stopped her and she had to call the boss. The boss walked her through recovering every chip from us and the other three players at the table. The dealer was shaking and embarrassed and I felt awful. I wished that I hadn't brought that on her, so morality has a lot of grey to be dealt with.

I like that participants on this forum can speak truthfully about their life experience. To try and stifle that is tantamount to trolling.

Late to the party here, but my belief is that I am responsible to ensure my bets are paid correctly, and the casino is responsible that their bets are paid (or taken) correctly. It's not my job to ensure that your dealers are trained properly and need to point out their mistakes that are in my favor.

To put things in perspective - suppose a pit-critter came up to your blackjack table with a $100 voucher for the high-end steak house on-property... He has your name & player's card number correctly on the voucher...and he tells you - mistakenly - that this is the casino's way of thanking you for the incredible amount of play you gave them last night... (and you only played for an hour last night).
...and, before you could say a thing, he walked away. You realize that they must have mistaken somebody else's play for yours.
Would you take the voucher, or would you tell the dealer, handing her the voucher, "I can't accept this...there's no way my play last night warrants such a generous comp."?
...or would smile, say "thank you" & then use the comp?

A dealer mis-pay in your favor, so long as we're talking about appropriate to your bet size, is no different.
(If you bet $10 but they mistakenly paid you $100 - that's a bit too much in my opinion - you say something...but if they paid you $10 on your $10 bet when it should've pushed? Yeah - it's comparable).

I was at the Stardust long ago, and shortly after I moved from the crap table to the adjacent blackjack table, a dealer came over to the blackjack table and gave me $50... he told me that I had forgotten about my hard-8...and that it hit.
Well, I knew that my hard-8 went down before I left the crap table, since I left on a "7-out", but who was I going to argue with? it was many rolls later.
I took the two green chips and I bet them at the blackjack table on the very next hand. I left the money out there until it lost. I then went back to $10 bets.
