Here I go again on my own / Goin' down the only road I've ever known -- December 12-16, 2016

I'll do the same thing with this report that I've done with previous reports, one post = one day.

This was my 14th trip to Las Vegas & as usual it was a solo trip.

Day1: December 12, 2016. Monday:

I flew out of Houston with Southwest Airlines. There were about 55 people on board. I had a row to myself. We took off at 6:30am. For part of the flight I sat next to the window & took some pictures.

The plane landed in Vegas at 7:39am. I got to the MGM Grand at 8:29am. Checked in & got to my room at 8:40am. I had a Strip View room.

I got my new MLife "Pearl" level card.

I then went to breakfast at Bayside Buffet at Mandalay Bay. 9:39am. First time there since 2010. Better than before.

After breakfast I walked around Mandalay Bay a little bit. Took some pictures.

I putzed around the strip for a little while. Came across a couple birds in this water.... thing in front of New York New York's bridge.

I eventually made my way to the Caesars Forum Shops so I could watch the Fall of Atlantis show. 1pm.



For dinner i ate at Lagasse's Stadium inside the Palazzo. I had the chicken nachos & watched the first half of Monday Night Football. There were more people than the previous year.

After dinner I went to the Fremont Street Experience. 8:40pm. I watched a Dancing DJ & some other people dance, bands perform, Elvis impersonator sing, & a light show.

I left at 9:53pm. Eventually made my way back to the Strip.

I made it back to my room at 10:52pm & went to bed at midnight.

Day #2: Tuesday, December 13:

I woke up at 6:03am after being visited by a horse names Charley. I got ready for the day & went to breakfast at the Bellagio buffet. 8:29am. Good food.

I then went to the Richard MacDonald gallery at the Bellagio. 10:29am.

I then went to the Bellagio's conservatory. 10:51am. It had a nice Christmas theme.

I went to the Westgate to pick up a ticket for my Thursday night entertainment. 12:22pm. I then went to the new Lucky Dragon casino. It's just off the Strip. 1:22pm.

I then went back to the SLS or W casino or whatever it's called these days.

I caught the tram back to the MGM Grand so I could go to my room to rest for a while. 2:45pm.

For dinner I went to the Hooters restaurant inside the Hooters casino. 5:30pm. I had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, curly fries, & a Pepsi.

My entertainment for the evening was the show Fantasy at the Luxor. 10:30pm. It had some new dancers & numbers. I sat in the front row, middle of the stage. Great show. After the show I bought a 2017 Fantasy calendar. The dancers autographed their month. I was able to take pictures of the dancers.

Great TR this year trip I'm looking forward to Fantasy show but damn dancers look old lol....I thought they would be little younger lol

 

Out in the "real" world they wouldn't be considered "old", but I'm guessing some of the dancers are a few years older than what most people think a showgirl would normally be. I'd be willing to bet half of Fantasy's dancers are over the age of 30. I remember hearing that a dancer for Jubilee lasted till her early 50s. I guess as long as a dancer stays in shape, healthy, & maintains her beauty, a show will keep her around. It's good to have veterans on the team.

Yeah I do agree with you.... they DO LOOK GREAT...I guess I was thinking about stripper type lol but please continue with you TR it's awesome thanks for pictures...I really wish I was there lol

 

I'd be willing to bet that there have been some strippers who have become showgirls. Just like in the awesome & wonderful movie Showgirls!!! I do know that one of the dancers for Sexxy at the Westgate use to be a dancing DJ. She use to go by the stage name DJ Lady GoGo. I saw her perform a few time at the Fremont Street Experience. I also saw her perform at the Linq during my June 2014 trip.

Day #3: December 14, Wednesday:

I woke up at 6:30am. Got ready for the day. For breakfast I went to the Bacchanal buffet at Caesars Palace. 7:50am. Prices have been raised since the last time I was there. Including tax, breakfast is now $42.17. The food is good & there is a lot of choices, but $42 is too much to pay for breakfast. I highly doubt I'll ever eat at Bacchanal again.

I had a tour of the Red Rock Canyon scheduled for the early afternoon. As I waited to be picked up, I took a few pictures.

My entertainment for the night was the show Sexxy at the Westgate. I sat right in front of the stage. It was a very good & entertaining show. Unfortunately the audience didn't get to meet the dancers after the show. That was because they had an appearance to go to. I thought that was odd considering it was close to midnight.

I eventually made it to the airport. My plane was scheduled to leave at 5:30pm. It was delayed about 30 minutes because of strong wind. Made it home safe & sound. I've already scheduled my next Vegas trip. I'll be there May 15-19, 2017. I'll be staying at the Excalibur for the second time. I'll be in a Royal Tower King room. Not sure what all my activities will be & where I'll be eating. The only thing I know for sure is that I'll be seeing Britney Spears' show on Wednesday, May 17.
