For my upcoming trip I will be arriving in Vegas Sunday morning at 9:15 AM. My plan was to drop bags off at the hotel, check in, and head to breakfast at the Sterling Brunch at Ballys. My concern is that if I am unable to check in when we arrive at the hotel I will not be able to room charge and get food taken care of. There are 2 of us so we are looking at almost $200 in food therefore its definitely something I want to have taken care of by the casino. Anybody else ever deal with this situation?

Call your host and tell him your situation. Have him take care of it.
If you are playing that much that all your food, etc. will be comp, he will take care of it.

I assume you normally have enough play to get this and other expenses comped off?

Will you be using RC's for any other expenses?

I usually get all of my charges taken care of. I have no plans to use RC's on this trip. Generally all of my RCs are wiped off at checkout each trip. I presently do not have any as last trip my host wiped them out.

With that said, contact the host. I might have said you might be able to checkin anyways - we have done often. But, being a Sunday, available rooms that are clean will be slim.

No experience with host nor with CET.
But I had one similar experience with Aria, the difference was in my case the time was 5pm.
I tried to check in since 11:00am, room not ready. I waited and waited and back to the front desk many many times,
room still not available. I couldn't use my resort credits for lunch because I didn't have a room number.
In the end, I paid my much delayed lunch with Express Comps. stupid.

Even if you cant check in, go to Diamond check in and give them your info. They will notify you when your room is ready, However they will have your card on file so charging to your "room" should be possible!

I will definitely attempt to check-in when I arrive. Does the previous occupant of the room have to be checked out before they will issue a new room number I assume? I know the Saturday night before I arrive is busy but maybe I will get lucky.

I explain the situation at check-in and they give me a temporary room number to use for comps.

You could always pay the 25$ early check in fee and get it comped on the back end

That would maybe be a backup plan if the host is not going to help. The early checkin option could backfire if they do not have any rooms available.

I've had the same problem wanting to get breakfast on checkOUT day AFTER checking out a couple times at mulitple hotels. I still had resort credit left but since I went to the restaurant after like 11 or 12, when they apparently automatically check you out, roomcharge didn't work anymore and I ende up paying for it...
I would have felt stupid to find a host, explain the situation blabla for like 20 bucks... I guess it's the only way though
