We are staying at Wynn end of February. We are going to see Michael Jackson One Cirque show at 9:30pm at Mandalay Bay. We want to eat dinner that night at SW Steakhouse at Wynn. It will be on a Tuesday night. What time would you recommend doing dinner? Not sure how much time we should set aside the eat and grab an Uber over to Mandalay Bay. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Depends on how long you would like to spend eating, but I would probably go with a 6:00 time, since they don't do 7:00 reservations. This way, you should have plenty of time to get there without having to rush yourself, and you should be able to see the Lake of Dreams show before you leave.

Yea, an earlier time makes more sense. Have you considered eating at M-Bay so there is no worry about traffic, etc? Personally, having that issue hanging around during dinner is always a downer. Just me of course.

6 would be good, plenty of time to get to MBay. I wouldn't eat at MBay, while they have some good dining options, they don't have anything as good as SW

I would argue that Charlie Palmer steak in the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay is comparable. I would recommend going there is the choice is available.

What about Stripsteak at Mandalay Bay? I've heard as many good things about it as I have SW.

Given the review westie posted of SW (John Curtas just crucified them), I'd go with StripSteak.

Interesting. I haven't eaten at SW for awhile. It's just one guy but that review is brutal.

I'll let you know! I'm doing the exact same thing Sunday Jan 29th. We're probably cutting it close by eating at 7:30 but we've been there several times and know what we want so it won't take long to order.

Whoa - I was planning on trying SW but that article makes me think I should save my money and go to Carnevino or Prime or anywhere else.

I was just there last month, and it was still very good (Chili-Rubbed Double Ribeye). I know it's anecdotal evidence, but I consider my standards to be high for food. I'm very curious about how high this reviewer's standards are.

Any chance you would be able to do the two venues on different nights? I'm a worry-wart so I'd like to relax during a dinner like that instead of worrying about an event that is on the other side of the Strip.

But if I had to I agree about the 6:00 reservation.

You are killing me posting that review. I thought I had it all figured out after reading hours of reviews.

We ate at Prime a couple of years ago and I think that was the best meal I ever had.

I would be more concerned if there were a pattern of bad reviews. Anyone can have a bad experience at any place.

Most questionable thing about the review linked above was not understanding why the restaurant would charge 4x retail prices for a bottle of wine. 3x to 4x retail seems pretty standard to me and nothing out of the ordinary. My gauge for drinking wine in a steakhouse is I can expect to pay for a glass what I would pay for a bottle at the store

Standard markup is 2x to 3x retail, 4x is pretty ridiculous.
