I have a couple of nights comped at Orleans in February - I was wondering if they waive the resort fees for comped rooms/casino invited guests? They did waive it for me a few years ago but I know a lot has changed since then. Does anyone have any recent experience?

As of December they were not charging resort fee for comped rooms. Hopefully they won't follow some of the strip hotels down the "comped, but not really" path....

As far as I know, waiving the fees for comped guests still applies. Definitely as of Feb. 2016.

We were there the week of Thanksgiving on a two night comp during the week (Sun & Mon) and were not charged the resort fee.

No resort fees on comped rooms and if you are Sapphire or Emerald you can ask for a refrigerator to be delivered to your room free of charge...

in a related question, does a standard room typically come with a sofa? or is that considered an upgrade?

All rooms come with a small sofa, chair and coffee table. The rooms are quite large (450 sq ft) so it's not crowded. The furniture is in front of the window using half the width of the room (the other half is the bathroom, which has a small window at the end of the bathtub .. and it opens!).

Sapphire and was charged for fridge at SamsTown ($15 per stay). Will try that next trip to Sams. Amd no Boyd charges resort fee with comped room. I believe when you book online it shows that.

The last time I asked for a fridge to be delivered the guy at the front desk told me it would be $15 a day. I was a little confused and told him that I had not ever paid for one before. I showed my Sapphire card and he said yep, its free with the sapphire card... I have had one delivered the last 4 or 5 times I have stayed there and just waited around to tip the housekeeper when she brought it...
