Having been in college '78-'82, I heard a lot of their stuff down the hall in the dorms and off-campus. I never much cared for 'em, but I know others LOVE them... hope it's a successful stretch! What was that one song that drove me freekin' nuts? Bodisatva or something like that? Ughhhhhh

How can you not like when the Peanuts Gang sings it? I was a fan back in the day.

It's some pretty precise music, Becker and Fagen are outstanding musicians but kind of prickly to get along with as I understand.....both with each other and bandmates.

paperposter, any word if it is the whole band, they pop a whallop with the horns and the ladies on backup vocals. I can't seem to find any current band lineup ?

I have not seen them since 1993.

This is great news. My husband has always wanted to see them in Vegas but we always just miss them. Our next trip is planned for Easter!

Ohhhhhh Godddddddd that's it!!! We had some neighbors that I swear played that song daily!!! I was just coming out of my Tower of Power/Graham Central Station/Brothers Johnson/Rufus/Kool and the Gang funk days and landed squarely into an AC/DC/Van Halen/UFO/Pat Travers experience and wasn't having any of Steely Dan! My drastic music change coincided with our move from NE Ohio out to California's Bay Area. Like I said before, even though I wasn't into SD, I know a lot of their stuff cause it was VERY popular in Chico during this time.

I've seen many incarnations of the Dan and I will say the current band they are touring with is unreal. The drummer especially. I know, the drummer, but you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. Not sure why anyone would think a band with a few songs about pedophilia and incest are "prickly"?

I have always like SD, but I would not shell out big money to see them. ticket prices keep me from going to concerts anymore. just not worth it. sometimes at the local casinos at home you can catch some good oldies acts for under $60. I did pay around $100 to see the Rolling Stones at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 4, 2014. the seating / crowd control was very poorly organized, but a fun experience overall.

My dad got me into Steely Dan, and I always wished we could see a show together - now he says he's "not into them" anymore. :(

This sounds so fun though! And at the Venetian no less!

Maybe, just maybe if he attended their concert he would be "into them" again. :headbang:

The one concert I attended in 2014 was awesome. They played for almost 3 hours.

    Good luck....

Glad this thread popped up. Big fan of The Dan. Seen them 4 times and I just happen to be hitting town in time for the April 29th show.

How is the Opaline at the Venetian? Not going to spend a ton so I'll be in the cheap seats.

Any comments on the venue would be most appreciated.
