Any bars carry Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon?

I have never been able to get my hand's on any, and would like to try it in town.

Didn't know if there is any good whiskey bars that carry it (no clubs)

 

I know Delmonico at Venetian usually has it. They have a massive whiskey offering with some nice flight options for Scotch, Irish, etc. This probably goes without saying but you will pay handsomely for it.

 

just because it is hard to get and expensive doesnt mean its good...everyone has their own thing, i just didnt like it

 

Cool thanks. I figured it would be expensive(if it is more than $25 a pour then I may pass on it). I was out of town on business last year and a liquor store that gets it, raffles off the chance to even buy it!

 

Do a search for the "Whiskey Book" at Delmonico Vegas - it lists their entire offering. If you're at all interested in the various whiskeys it's fun to look through. I don't think you'll get any Pappy for less than $100 but think what you'll save by not gambling while you're enjoying it! It's all just units when in Vegas...

 

Sage at Aria probally still has it...depends on the year you want but probally the cheapest you will find will be about $35, expect over $100 for 23yr

I dont know if Paris has it, but there was this bar on the floor near the elevators, bathrooms and I think close to valet, had a large selection...I recommend checking here as back in march I asked the lady how much for a shot a Jack Daniels Sinatra Select, its roughlt $180 a bottle in stores, she says $29 a shot. I wanted to try it so I said lets do it, my friend wanted some too as we never tried it before...the bartender filled the whole cocktail glass up almost to the rim with no ice...my jaw almost dropped, not because I was pretty drunk and it was alot she poured but that she only charged us $29 for it

Weller's is made in the same distillery in the same barrels. Try it, it's much cheaper and very similar, and you can actually find it in stores! Weller's Antique is what I'd recommend.

 

Then unfortunately, where you might find it, you'll pass on it.

With near absolute 100% metaphysical certainty, it will cost more than $25 a pour anywhere it can be found in Vegas.

 

I think Whiskey Down at MGM has a bottle or two, but yeah, under no circumstances will you get a shot for $25.

 

Whiskey Attic is off strip, but may be what you are looking for. I've never been there, but thought about it several times.

 

That's my recommendation too. Same mash bill, just different aging and blending. It's very reasonable as well.

 

Delmonico is my go to bar for both top shelf and rare whisky/whiskey. Best scotch selection on the strip, and one of best I've ever run across (Tasmanian single malt?? Who knew??). Their book of whisky is 40+ pages and if I recall the bourbon list is about 5 pgs of that. The head bartender there really knows her stuff.

Ri Ra in the walkway between Mandalay Bay and Luxor also has an outstanding selection. Their Irish collection is a more diverse than Delmonico.

I don't think you'd be disappointed in either one. They both do flights and have a pretty knowledgable staff, so if what you wanted was a little too pricey or out of stock, I'm sure they could recommend as suitable substitute.

 

I think you will have a hard time finding any Pappy 15 or 23 for $25 a round. Bourbon 1923 had Pappy 15 year for $50 a round. Being from KY and sampled a ton of bourbon whisky I can tell you, its over rated.
Blade and Bow is a great blended bourbon from the historic distillery where Pappy was originally distilled, Stitzel Weller formerly the old United Distillers plant. Stitzel acquired all the aging bourbon in the warehouses from the shut down distillery.
Some of it was the Old Fitz older aged bourbon which was from the Pappy recipe (Jullian Van Winkle Jr worked there till 72). Buffalo Trace is the current distiller for Pappy brand.

Blade and Bow is definitely one of the smoothest old age blended bourbon on the market. I am not a big fan of high Rye content Bulleit Whisky, but this one it has a mild finish, and a very close taste to Pappy 15 year. My best guess is it is blended with IW Harper or a Bulleit 10 year.

The really good Pappy is the pre-buffalo trace era stuff 23 year or older if you can find. Back in the 80's the stuff was abundant and I am fortunate enough to have an old china style bottle passed down from in my family.

 

Montecristo Cigar Bar at Caesars offers it.

Don't know if this website is accurate, but you may find it informative. When we visited Buffalo Trace this fall we saw a barrel of Pappy in the rack house nearing its finishing age, but a little to big to carry out.

Buddy of mine paid $125 a couple years ago so for $25 all your probably going to get is to dip your finger in some and lick it.

 

Given Strip pricing, you're probably better off buying an extortionate bottle online to share with your friends.

 

you will always come out cheaper if you buy your own bottle vs paying in bar or casino unless you just want a one and done taste, they have to make profit, lol

outside of the strip, im talking all across the country, the places with high end drinks on the strip are priced right with all the others across the country, some actually cheaper on the strip
