Thinking about staying at Excalibur rather than Bally's cause it is half the price for the week we wanna go. Planning on going September 24th-26th. I've never stayed at Excalibur and am wondering how the rooms and getting out to the strip is? Does Excalibur have a food court cause we don't need a sit down meal all the time? Also where is the closest wall greens or CVS? We pretty much just use the room to sleep and shower. Any other tips or suggestions about staying at Excalibur wold be appreciated. Thanks Bret
I remember eating at Baja Fresh there, but this was 2010. The nearest CVS is probably the one near Monte Carlo.
Stayed there twice recently in 2013 and 2014. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom had no tub, shower only if that is an issue. Yes there is a good court on the second floor, basic food. Easy access to the other hotels on the Four Corners and NYNY has a decent quick counter pizza place.
First trip to Vegas was The Excalibur. Nice location with a free tram down to Mandalay Bay and The Luxor. Enjoyed it personally. Food Court is up the escalators from the main casino area I seem to recall. https://www.excalibur.com/en/restaurants/food-court.html#/Restaurants Looks like McDonalds have left.
No complaints from us on our stay, nothing fancy, great position, right price. Share people gave up on us when l said [ "l would have bought over here when the G.F.C. was on.]. Go for it if the price is right.
My recommendation would be to keep checking rates. September is a long time from now and there is a good chance the price of Excalibur or maybe even Bally's will come down. As for CVS and Walgreens, I believe the closest (CVS) is in front of Monte Carlo along with a Walgreens across the street from the CVS.
The dates you are going is a big conference time in Las Vegas. It's probably why Ballys is so much higher in costs because of proximity to Sands.
Yes, always check monthly rate calendars. Rates can be double or triple from day to day. Just looked at Ballys - rates in Sept run from $69 a day to $229... supply and demand at work
I like Bally's location but for 1,099$ from 24th-29th in jubilee tower. Not worth it for that price to stay at Bally's I can't just justify the cost. Maybe staying at bellagio or cosmo or wherever i would pay but, this is a somewhat of a group trip trying stay cheap on the strip. Thanks for every one feed back so far so quickly. Probably gonna book Excalibur i can stay there for just under 500$.
I would agree with nostresshere, there's likely to be promotions and sales happening during the next few months that will allow you to stay in a better place. If you're used to Bally's Jubilee, you're going to find any standard room at the Ex a big step down. It's also pretty isolated down on the south end of the strip. If I were you I'd keep an eye on NYNY or one of the other low-mid range spots before booking the Ex, even if it costs a little more. I'd have a hard time stomaching $500 for a week at the Ex.
It will also be likely split between 3 people and if i use the my Vegas 25% off will knock the price down more off Excalibur. Yeah would be a bit more walking and more tram use. Even staying at Bally's we always gambled somewhere else. Plus all these resorts have a good cancellation policy so. Will probably book Excalibur and if we find something better will cancel our reservation. Like i said before as long as it has a shower and decent beds we will be ok.
I would agree with that. It is an inside walk to Luxor and M-Bay. Easy walk over to NYNY and then M-C and Aria. Two bridges to MGM, and 1 to Tropicana.
Ten years ago I stayed at Excalibur because I had my kids with me. I vowed never to return as the room was small and smelled of mold. The casino was dirty and food options were limited. 2 years ago I received an offer for 2 free nights and decided to try it again. I'm glad I did. The rooms have all been remodeled in the last 1 - 2 years, the bathrooms are large, the casino is bright and clean with a great assortment of slots, and the drink service is among the best on the strip. Location is great as Luxor and Mandalay Bay can be accessed without going outside and the Tropicana and NY-NY are a short walk over the bridge. You can also ride the monorail from Monte Carlo to Bellagio with limited walking. My girlfriend is wheel chair bound and I had no difficulties getting from Excalibur to Bellagio. I have stayed at Wynn, Caesars, Venetian and no longer feel the need to spend money on the high luxury hotels. Excalibur has nice pools, and is clean and comfortable for a much lesser price. It is also easy to get free nights for limited play. I find if you risk $100 a day, it keeps the free offers coming. It is now my home casino on the strip.
Thanks for the reply. I also use rent a scooter cause i can't walk very far cause of Muscular distrophy. I like hearing that Monte Carlo isn't to far of walk to get on the tram cause we like Bellagio and that area. Making my decision easier cause of the the price.
I've stayed 4 times and always had a clean room. I've thought about trying other spots on the strip but one of the reasons I stay is because of the location. Love having 2 casinos on either side, one right across and one kitty corner(I'm primarily an M-life player though)
I liked the pool area at Excalibur, and because the AM/PM Mini Mart was across the street, I was able to enjoy a couple of these. I went in Late September 2013, great weather at that time, still hot.
I stayed at Excalibur my first trip to LV about 20 years ago. Loved the location. Had good luck there!
