Anybody know if Luxor has guards checking keys at the Tower elevators? Never stayed there. Thinking of having a smallish M & G and trying to figure out if I can just ping everybody my room number or whether I'll have to go down and get them.

Thinking of all the places I've stayed, it seems hit or miss
    MB/Delano - nope
    Aria - yep
    MGM Grand - nope
    Cosmo - nope
    V/P - yep
    Caesars - nope

In my experience it's been based upon time of day as well... Aria has them from sometime around noon until the wee hours. At the Bellagio they seem to start later in the day. Never seen one at Paris/Bally's, or Caesars. Security was present at the Wynn elevators, but I don't recall if it was day long or not.

    not from my limited experience.
I believe for your M&G party, not a problem at all.

I stayed at the Luxor twice, both times in the pyramid, but it was a long time ago (2001 & 2009). There were no guards checking keys at any time.

I stayed at Luxor about 2 years ago for a night and there wasn't any security checking keys at the tower elevators.

Same here. Stayed there a few times over the last five years and never saw any, however I didn't pass through in the wee hours, so I can't speak to that

When they first opened, yes. The last time I stayed in the pyramid, which was several years ago, no.

Thanks for the replies. I arrive the day before the M & G (hopefully), so I'll have a chance to scope it out, but it helps to have some idea in advance.

I've stayed in a Luxor tower room twice; second time was just last month and I have never encountered security by the elevators at any time of day/night.

Some time ago when I last stayed there, they were most definitely checking keys at the inclinators to the pyramid during the late evening and wee hours. Not in the day or early evening.

Its been a long time since I stayed at Luxor, but when I last did about six years ago, all of the tower elevators required a key to access the elevator floors. Did they remove those?

    Definitely no guards there.
None that ive seen at Mandalay, Delano, MGM, Monte Carlo.

I know the Mirage has guards for sure as does Vdara and Aria. Cosmo for sure has guards.

But my memory may be fuzzy since i was probably 99% buzzed going back to the room at nigjt.

I didn't see guards at Cosmo.
I saw guards at: Wynn/Encore, V/P, Bellagio, Aria, Mirage (mostly nighttime), TI (not always)

I'm sure most casinos post guards irregularly. At the old Sahara I remember that they had podiums (podia?) but it was hit or miss, usually miss, if there was actually an officer there.

The old Stardust was the only place I ever saw where they REALLY checked keys. The guard (a "suit" type security guy) had a card reader and he would scan the key. No workee, no entry! :)

All other places they would, at most, ask to see a key card, which any pizza-flyer-hander-outer or, uh "direct-to-yer-room entertainer" could easily find I'm sure.

I recalled seeing them to the elevators to the right across from the lobby where all the columns are.

    I must be dreaming then.

I have no doubt you saw security, but it wasn't for the elevators. I have stayed in each tower multiple times, including last month, and there is not security checking keys
