Flamingo room choice

need upgrade info have fab comp but what would be a good upgrade Go room strip view
Or Suggestions

 

Well any Go would be a good upgrade from a Fab room (I could stay in a Fab room - don't get me wrong - but you are asking upgrades). The strip view room has two directions - one is straight on to Caesars Palace - no real view there in my opinion. I actually requested a change from that to a Garden (High Roller) view last month after first night as the club at Caesars was noisy. The 'strip' view I prefer is a south view facing Bellagio fountains - HOWEVER you will get noise from the rooftop club at Cromwell depending on night/time of year. And if you are not far enough up you won't have a view to speak of anyway. To be honest at Flamingo I actually prefer the Garden view. It's relaxing.

 

There is also the fab executive.....basically the same as a fab except a bit bigger, and I believe there is a fridge ( there was one in the room I has about a year ago). If you look at the hotel from the outside the very top floor juts out a bit, those are the executive rooms. Also, there is no Tommy and Marie window wrap on the top floor. I was fine with it, but the Go rooms are much nicer.......

 

I also stayed in the Fab Executive about a year ago. I was really pleased with the room, It had a nice amount of space and was very clean. And I also had a fridge in mine along with a coffee maker. I don't think you would have any trouble getting a free upgrade if you chose to go that route.

 

LOL, I think of the Flamingo as having three classes of room. Fab, Go, and Outa My League!

This will give you an idea of the Fab and Go. Strip view is the same with a view. Executive has a little extra square footage on the top floor. Studios are just older rooms with a little extra space and a couch I think. Similar bathroom style to the Fab Rooms.

If doing Flamingo. I would really only want to do a Go room or just settle on a different property. I would pick Linq or Harrah's over any of the Fab rooms and deal with Flamingo elevators. If you insist on Flamingo, the Fab Executive would probably be the best pick for the extra space. The studios are oldish (heck I think some might even have tube tv's in them still).

 

I'm sorry, those photos look far too much like promotional photos and are not representative of the room you get. Our room last summer at Flamingo (I assume the "Fab" series) was nice, but not nearly as nice, in real life, as those photos show! I can tell that many of those photos were taken with a very wide lens, some appear to be ultrawide, which distorts the perspective.

Just for giggles, I pulled up their photos on Caesars, since my memory of the room is fresh, as in 1 1/2 weeks ago. Same thing. Photo is not representative of what you really get. I should have taken a few shots of the room before we messed it up, as I sometimes do, but did not think of it.

In all fairness to the photographer and the site, I see from the reflections in one shot that they did them with a hand camera and a single shoe-mount flash, and not a true professional shoot set-up. The finished photos just look too "clean" for accurate reportage. I also noticed from inspecting a couple of the photos that they edited out almost all of the "EXIF" data, which would have shown the lens and flash information. This is not uncommon, however.

Go Rooms are nice though be aware the bathroom is enclosed by frosted glass not walls.

 

I stayed at the Flamingo 3 weeks ago and had a comp Fab room-Strip view, I am Platinum so I checked in at the Diamond/Platinum check-in(no line/very fast/great service).
Under the suggestion of a VMB'er on this site, I asked for a room on the Executive floor with a view of the Bellagio Fountains
I was informed that the rooms with a view of the Fountains were Go rooms and that an upgrade fee would apply. I said give me the best that you have with no upgrade fee.
I got a Fab room on the Executive floor(#28094?) with a strip view right across from Caesar's Palace and if I stood at the window, I could see the Bellagio fountains.
The room was clean but well worn (I joked that Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin had used the same furniture when the Flamingo opened) it did have a coffee maker and a small fridge.
the bathroom and tub was small. but if all you do is take a shower and sleep for a couple of hours each night, it would be fine.

 

I have a comp Go room, Hi Roller View. Would you stay with that or try for something different?

 

I just booked yesterday. Was comped one night and then of course not for the weekend. Decided to go with Fab Executive room. Go rooms are never a comp option for this low roller. I usually accept the upgrade when I book and have always received a Go Room but it is often 25-30. This time I can upgrade to an Executive Go room for $8.00 a night. No guarantees of course. I will take the upgrade if available and if not, will report back on Fab Executive room......

 

Sands Fan - As I mentioned above I actually now prefer the garden view. The noise & intensity of the Strip makes it nice to relax and have quiet in the evening. No continual sirens, no club noise etc. I had a bit of noise from a venue in Linq alley last time but it was so minimal I dozed off and it never woke me again. If you have never had a Strip view before, then it might be worth trying to upgrade.

 

jgates8 I second that for sure! We used to love the view towards Bally's and the Bellagio Fountains, but since the Cromwell has been renovated, those views are not as spectacular. We really enjoy the pool/garden view with a peak at the High Roller...........less noise issues for sure.

 

Thanks, I haven't stayed at the Flamingo since a wedding on 11/11/11 so am a bit fuzzy on the rooms and locations. I just re read your post and realize the Garden view has (high roller) beside it so I guess that is what I have. Sorry about that.

I've had strip views from most of the Caesars properties which isn't a big deal. Sleep is much more important.

I'll always call it Garden View lol. I do like the HR lights though except this last trip my bed was on the right side coming into the room (window faced north) so I was on wrong side of room to look at the lights.

 

Been a TR member for more than 25 years, but never stayed at the Flamingo. Don't play CET much anymore. My Platinum was timing out last month, so I managed to get a comped Fab room for 3 weeknights, in Nov, for Feb. Then I emailed a random host and asked that he arrange that we be put up in a remodeled room, due to the bad reviews. He came back with a Executive Fab. Does that sound like it will be a remodeled room? And we use a sound machine, which will drown out the noise. So I'm thinking of greasing the clerk a 20 for a Strip view Executive Fab. Does that sound like a good strategy? And will either of the rooms have a coffeemaker? Any other advice appreciated.

Wolfdog, I would honestly try for a GO room. View not as critical as the upgraded room. Especially the bathrooms. I don't think it is worth your money to just get a Strip view. Just my two cents.

Just checked my reservation on Caesars.com and my room was changed from a Go King, Hi Roller View to a Go King, mini suite.

 

Stayed a few days at the Flamingo last summer. Pleasantly surprise. Had a Go room, great view, decent room, nice mid strip location. Elevators quick and easy (others haven't had that experience). I rarely stay on the strip but it was a good experience and a very good value.
