I'm a Starwood Platinum and now that SPG and Marriott have merged, I was able to convert SPG points into Marriott points and book 2 suites at the Cosmo.

One is for myself and my husband, the other for my brother and his wife. I'm arriving a day earlier than they are. I have 2 questions:

    1. Am I allowed to have 2 rooms under my name using points for similar dates?

    2. As I've been matched as a Marriott Platinum Elite, what Platinum benefits does Cosmo honor?

I was able to get two city suites for the same point value as regular rooms. First stay at the Cosmo, I'm giving up a comp offer at Palazzo just for the experience!

How many Marriott points did it cost for the room?

You can use the Marriott Elite check-in desk which is located to the left of the main desk after you come in from the Valet area. I'm Platinum Elite and booked with points last trip and didn't really get anything 'extra' for it, meaning I still had to pay the resort fee. I thought being Platinum I might get the 'free upgrade' like I do at all other Marriott properties and that didn't happen, even in spite of the $20 trick. I ended up getting a wrap-around for an additional fee (which I willingly paid).. YMMV, but using points here got me the 'free' room and not much else (but that saved me probably $600, so not complaining)

You would need to book through Marriott and just select the Cosmo as your destination (I book on Marriott.com and points deducted automatically when selected...). If you need any help with that, PM me...

Thanks. I get a special rate with my one chase united credit card so I may have to look into all of that.

It is a category 9 so 45K points/nt for a City View room. But the balcony is one of the main reasons to stay at Cosmo, imo, so pay the extra $25/nt for the balcony.

I had available both a regular room and a 2 bedroom city suite, both same point value of 45k Marriott points. Since we are bringing our teenage daughter with us, I jumped on the 2 bedroom. It's 1615 sq ft for goodness sake! She's thrilled she gets her own bedroom. I am too, she snores lol

I just booked the same suite for super bowl weekend, also using marriott points (transferred from Starwood). I couldn't believe that they were offering the 2BR/3BA suite for the same amount of points as the base-level room. The cash rate for the suite for the same days is over $5k. Hell of a deal.
