Curious as to which type of suitcases y'all prefer, 4 wheeled spinners or 2 wheeled pulling type suitcases? I have a 2 wheeled pulling type but I might consider a 4 wheeled spinner for my next purchase. This link illustrates the pros and cons for both types of suitcases and both have its advantages and disadvantages.

Tumi spinner, with a gentle pull, it will turn into a 2 wheel puller if need be, lol

4 wheel for me. Broke a wheel on our last trip. I just turned it around and used the side with the working two wheels, tipped it, and used it as a two wheeler. :)

P.s. bought the suitcase at Tj max, only used it twice. Wrote to the company, asked about buying a replacement wheel since I didn't have receipt. They simply mailed me a new wheel free of charge. Though, they did grumble a bit with no recepit, but they still did it, which I appreciate! (CALPAK).

Lose a wheel on a 4 wheeler, you can still use other wheels. Lose a wheel on a two wheeler, your work around get a little tougher. :)

Good point about losing a wheel. Starting with 4 wheels lose 1, 3 wheels remaining. Starting with 2 wheels, lose 1, only 1 left (lol). BTW that was nice of the company to send you a replacement wheel even if they grumbled a bit at first.

I actually didn't expect it; I didnt even ask for free, as I know how many people try to work the system. It was very nice, and I'd definitely buy Cal-Pak again for that reason! :)

I have 2 huge two wheelers. I won't replace them until they completely fall apart, but when they do, I'll probably get spinners. But I'll definitely be looking to try to get spinners with the most rugged wheels possible, no way I want to deal with a busted wheel.

4 wheel as well. The Ross store just north of Encore has plenty to choose from, got mine from there.

I've heard that the 4 wheel spinners because they stick out so much break easy and with carry on are big to fit overhead.

My experience with spinners is they are better ....... until you encounter a carpet. At which point you use them like a bad 2 wheeler anyway.

Four-wheel spinner and would never go back to old two-wheeler model.

Our suitcases are the four-wheeled spinner type, BUT 90% of the time we pull them. Guess old habits die hard.

Not necessarily true. We have 4 wheel spinners and they fit fine in the overhead. It depends on the size of the suitcase I am guessing also.

Airlines kept breaking wheels off my Samsonite spinners, so I've gone back to 2-wheel bags.

i cant tell you how many times I have seen the baggage loaders throwing luggage on the loader from several feet away and several over and under shoots...watched a few wheels break off and they just picked the bag back up and put it on the loader
