I hadn't been to Vegas in 2 years. Life events can wreck a Vegas trip quickly.

My host was kind to me he was aware of the things that happened to me including a missed flight and gave me my usual comps. A group of us went and had a great time together spend alot but the winning was poor for being there a week.

We all noticed when we came back that our offers were terrible and there was a lot of money spent on slots and food and drinks at the pool. Many of my friends made gold in one night some are platinum. Anyhow, I noticed the offers that were all getting now are absolute crap and when you talk to the host they only want to give you the standard corporate offer.

In fact I found Mirage and Bellagio the worst and those are my go to casino's for years. Is it just me or is Mlife getting greedy and Bellagio hosts only care about the Whales now. So much for Vegas, starting to think I should take my business elsewhere.

Oh yah and I noticed no one is winning anymore much on these forums or even on my trips I rarely see an actual win of $1000 on slots anymore.

My husbands feeling is that Vegas sucks cause he never gets anything its just take take take.

Anyhow you can all give me your comments. I am becoming an x-vegas lover now and hubby has had it with Vegas.

The "no one is winning" thing is just a case of too small of a sample size. I'm sure slots are getting tighter (what isn't?). But it isn't like paybacks have gone from 99.9% to 75% or anything like that.

The "weak comps" is very real. And it isn't just MGM. Better Vegas economy means less need to incentivize folks to come visit. It stinks. But that's just supply and demand.

I noticed that too..I made reservations for Aria for my upcoming trip and the offer was terrible! I was looking around at other mlife resorts and the promotions do not look great compared to the past...maybe I am the odd person out though

No doubt about it. Been going to Las Vegas on the regular for the past 12 years. My play has been consistent if not increasing over the years. Approximately 8-10K coin in per day,

In the darkest days of the housing bubble, I would be offered minimum 3 night stays at the premimum Mlife properties, resort credit, show tickets, free play etc, back end comps so I didn't have to pick up a check hardly....

Fast foward to present day, 2 night offers, smaller free play and resort credit. Express comps instead of backend comps. Things have changed for sure. I think it speaks to the rebound of the Vegas economy of the past couple of years. The sliding scale of perks and comps is rising in good times.

Two things... the two year gap does seem to piss off Mlife. One of the casinos that used to get $1000 a month FP now gives me $300, even though my play probably went up on the last visit... too long ago.

The other is - what sort of corporate offers are you getting? I have found they are not too open to stretching that much.

I have been complaining for years, that the slots in vegas just don't pay anymore. when I go to the locals casinos at home, I see many more nice wins being hit. in fact, I have been to vegas 50+ times over 20 years and have never had a hand pay. when is my ship going to come in?

I've seen this too. TBH part of it is reduced play on my part, but in the past (say '13-'15) I was getting 3 night/FP/RC offers as regular as clockwork, almost regardless of my level of play. I had been a loyal Mlife stayer/player since 2012. Then things really dropped off about middle of last year, to the point that now I'm getting the dreaded "Prevailing Rates" emails, and not a sniff of a comp since late last year.

Meanwhile with minimal play at CET places I have basically unlimited comped rooms this year and have already booked 3 trips, 15 nights, comped. Pretty easy decision.

Well I do agree with you probably most part, I believe not just mlife but overall Vegas casinos became very stingy with their offers for general people they probably realized after years of cutting back on offers , charging resorts fees, parking etc...people are still coming to Vegas in record breaking numbers so they are keep cutting back offers...I don't think it's gonna change much in the future either...

Vegas is definitely not what it once was. But year in year out they get record numbers. They went from giving away the house to almost nothing for some. I understand your frustration with Vegas. I feel the same way. After my next trip I'm taking a break from Vegas for a while. I'll wait until a few new resorts are built. By then who knows, they may chard get to enter the casino.

This 9the above) is an interesting read, ...I got back yesterday from our once/year Vegas Vacation. Stayed at an M life property on the strip (comped by a host my wife and I really like). Given our level of play we get RFB (but obviously not airfare), being a long, hardened VP aficionado I tend to gravitate toward $5/$10 VP play so coin in is fairly high. During this particular visit I noticed almost a total lack of quads, and obviously no RFs, therefore after three days I had rung up a debt in the lower five figure range. Before leaving I paid my debt and after noting that we had only experienced only 2 Hand pays (with one coming from my wife on a $5 double diamond slot) when we typically bring home 15-30, W2s, requested some additional free play to soothe our damaged psyches. Our host was unavailable, but I figured the M Life staff would happily do something to maintain,at least on a once/year basis, a good customer. We got NADA, ZIPPO, NIL, all the while, other casino hosts blamed it on the fact that we were staying in the much higher priced Four Seaons(oops, probably shouldn't have mentioned that), maybe
I should move my business? Any comments, advice?

I would send an email to the host the you typically use and see if they can offer any insight.

As I and others here have said. Vegas is as busy as ever, and the preverbial line on comps is moving up.

Yup, comps for lower end players are going to be harder and harder to come by as long as things are good. For the people who take $1k-$2k and play mostly low limit tables/slots/VP and are generating less than $1k in theo, right now it's more profitable for the casino to keep your room and rent it to the guy who's willing to pay for everything out of pocket, and right now there are more and more of those people every day. When you start to get lots of people who are willing to pay out of pocket to visit Vegas, what used to be a soft cost of a room starts becoming a hard cost of the rack rate.

Really for everyone outside of the highest players, this holds true. I'm a mid level guy and although rooms aren't ever a problem, I have seen slight reductions in my FP and upfront F&B despite stable to slightly increased play at MLife. I do still however get pretty much everything taken off on the backend (as a side note I think this is simply prudent business as far as F&B goes as they don't have to commit up front and risk getting underplayed). Free Play is still about 20% lower than it was in the past though. Ultimately these are the ebbs and flows of comps in Vegas. When the economy is great they simply don't have to offer up as much to get their rooms filled. When there is another recession, they'll be giving out rooms to anyone with a pulse again.

I've always found my offers fair. Our last two trips have been $4500 coin in and a couple hours of craps at maybe $75 a roll over three nights. We're staying at NYNY for 3 nights in a marquis suite and $150 RC. Seems ok to me.

    Move to somewhere else.
My impression is Mandalay Bay very stingy on comps.

Vegas visitor levels break records every year; they have no incentive to offer you great comps. They are filling the rooms regardless.

The MGM properties are very stingy with comps for the table game player; unless you are a $25 (craps) or $100 (blackjack) don't even bother giving your card. You will just receive tons of mail/email offers that aren't much better than Expedia.

Look at the MGM share price. Almost tripled in the last 5 years. I think the business in LV is currently very well for them, no need for big incentives. And then there is the Caesars Group, which is falling behind more and more with their debt issues and lack of renovations. At the moment MGM owns the strip and there is not much competition.

I have always gotten offers of two nights at the MGM and now I get the same offer with a small amount of free play and resort credit. I have always thought that was pretty generous since most of my play is at Planet Hollywood. I have wondered about switching all the play I give PHO to MGM and see if the offers improve but my wife loves PHO and really enjoys our stays there.

Tex is right ~ I used to stay all the time at Bellagio ~ mostly table games ~ & would get free rooms for 3 nights a couple times a year. The last 5 years all MGM properties have dropped off considerably for me. I have given my play to Wynn (Much Better than Bellagio or Aria anyway!) & consistently get 3 night offers twice a year & I'm very happy with that (about $300 FP). Lately, I've been getting offers from the Cosmo (just met a host last trip & she's been terrific even though she knows I prefer staying at Wynn (Cosmo is not my kind place). I have to say the rooms & the VIEWS there are killers. Going to Wynn at the end of March but need a Saturday night stay in additional & she's giving me a 1 BR Premium Terrace View plus $300FP.

You may want to give Cosmo a try & definitely Wynn. MGM has completely dried up for me & honestly, I don't miss it at all.
One other option you may want to consider if you want to change cities ~ I constantly get free 3 night junkets to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. It's a Bellagio look a like (it was built by Steve Wynn) & it's a Wonderful place especially for east coasters ~ much easier to get to, big name entertainment, great steak house & pool overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Going again next weekend.

MGM in Vegas is just too tight right now
