    Hey all

First post. We just left Vegas after a 2 night stay in NYNY. This time out myself and my wife had our kids with us so the gambling was curtailed till late in the night for myself only. I signed up for the mlife card and at the end of stay I got the resort fee comped due to my gambling (I left $400 up!). I mainly played blackjack (8 hours over 2 nights) and some slot play.

Now I did not expect much on two nights play (I considered the $1 drinks as a good comp - the amount I drank over 2 nights would have amounted to $200+) and getting the resort fee waived was a good bonus.

Anyway to my questions - myself and my wife would like to go back to Vegas (without kids) and stay somewhere like the Cosmo/Aria. Is there anyway I could build up rewards to get uogrades etc in advance? We got married in Vegas 15 years ago and this was my wife's first visit to Vegas since (I was there a couple of months back on a lads night out) and she was bummed about not getting to gamble (I want to point out that she was not feeling well so decided not to sit in the casino with all the smokers. We had intended to go down to the floor in shifts). I want to take her back in early 2017.

So is there a way I could get upgraded and some comps built up in advance?

    Thanks for any advice.

u will see discounted offers thru the mlife site when u log in.

if u gambled like 8 hours at 200 or more an hour u might get a host at aria to review ur play and give a comp up front that a big might

    play the myvegas on line

There are a couple ways you could build up some comps in advance of your next stay.

Most of the casinos on the strip are owned by 2 companies, CET and MGM. They each offer a credit card which when used, earns you points that can be spent to reduce the cost of your next trip. They also have signup bonuses like free parking, free status tier upgrades, etc.

If you're traveling on the cheap, there's always MyVegas on Facebook. Play slots online for free and earn free nights at MGM properties. It's slow and there are hoops to jump through but if you have some free time it's an option to save some money.

Most of the strip properties are actually pretty good with teaser offers. Sign up for a players card at Cosmo and give them some play, they will give you a couple free nights. The Wynn and V/P will both do the same. I'm sure the smaller single property places will do the same.

MLife may give you some free nights as either as teaser or a result of your play. They do typically tie you to the property you stayed or gave your most play to.

Not much you can do at this point really though. Good luck.

You can build up a little comp value in advance by the methods described earlier - MyVegas for MLife properties, and I think CET has a Facebook casino, or their credit cards. I don't really think the credit cards are a great idea unless you're a specialist in that type of credit card game - overall, the rewards values are poor compared to so many other cards that give much better cash value as rewards.

The best way to get actual free room offers is like @Its Only Money described, which is to go to a casino and run a couple hundred through a slot machine to get teaser offers. You will probably end up getting one of those from MLife/NYNY as a result of your recent stay. If you get an MLife Corporate offer, you will be able to use it at Aria.

If you play at a higher level, you have a shot of contacting a host at a property you haven't stayed at - if you can document your prior play in a satisfactory manner, you at least have a chance the host will offer you room nights upfront.

Cosmo has been doing offer matching aggressively, I don't know if they still are. So once you have an MLife offer in hand, that may be a possibility. However, based on you saying you got 2 nights of resort fees comped, that doesn't represent a huge amount of play, it's hard to know what type of offer you will get from MLife ,comp nights or just discounts.

I think the thing to do would be to see what you get from MLife, use it to stay at Aria on your next trip, and then do a little seeding of play at one or more of Cosmo, one CET property, Venetian/Palazzo, and/or Wynn/Encore, whichever ones you think you might like to stay at. Use slots to do this, not table play.

CET (Harrahs hotels group) is the easiest to get free room offers. Next time, spend a little there.

Now that you are on the radar from MGM group, you will get some discounted offers, maybe some rooms. Aria is their top end, so do not expect much there. It might take some time to show on your mlife webpage.

Offers and rates vary significantly based on dates. There are times where rooms can be $69 one day and $500 the next. Events, supply and demand.

Upgrades? If you thinking you might get a suite upgrade - forget it. Rare.

My biggest suggestion? Scan through posts in this site from the past month. You will learn LOTS!!!!

Semi-recent (last couple of years) experience at Sams Town.

    1. Get a players card and start playing there. Modest but consistent play over a few days should do it.

    2. Watch your mailbox.

Thanks for the advice guys and girls. I will see what mlife offers me and go from there. If nothing else we will just book into aria or cosmo as it's a trip. I wasn't necessarily looking for a free handout just some love my way so I could stay in a better hotel/better room for cheaper.
