Worth the walk from Ceasars? Any good gossip, tips, or promos?

Many people like it, others don't. Probably easiest to 'search' it (top right) and you'll pull up a bunch of threads about it.

no its not worth the walk. if you happen to be in the area stop in but there is nothing that great there to justify the walk.

I think if you are a beer person, it is worth the trip. The food isn't bad either. Not much there though from a gambling standpoint. We always stop in when in town, but only for a few beers and maybe a meal. The karaoke is fun to watch as well.

I think it's hard for anyone to answer this unless we know your likes and dislikes. I personally like cheap and dives so I think it's worth a walk over for a brew and low limit gambling. I go once or twice on a long trip. Especially good if your bank roll has taken a hit on the strip.

We always go to EI during our trips to LV. It used to be a walk for either breakfast or the steak special. Now, with a few more aches and pains, we rent a car, but still make at least one stop at Ellis Island each trip.

Yeah it's worth the walk. And it's not like that it's that far away. I suggest hitting the restaurant for breakfast. The casino will never be much but it's worth experiencing once. For folks trashing the place, I'm wondering if they've been in there since they've started sprucing up.

I think it's worth the short walk. It's a nice change, no glamour or glitz. If you need bright shiny wow factor don't go. Also if you want to play craps, the one table opens late afternoon, I think 5 pm.

Go for yourself and form your own opinion.

worth the walk, only a few blocks off of the strip. as others have stated the food and brewery are good and a bargain. also if you are a coupon book user...LVA MRB and ACG, they have good coupons, freeplays and match plays for Ellis Island. I work in a visit every trip.

The casino has tile flooring (better than the concrete I remember from a few years back) and the beer is worse than MSS's beer if that means anything to you. Definitely a dive and I love dives - but I just dont see why I would make a special trip. The casino (well slot patrons in particular) has the essence of lost hopes and dreams wafting about it. If you dislike the crowd at El Cortez, you will really dislike Ellis Island :)

I have done their super bowl party the last few years because it was $40 2 years ago and $50 last year - but this year it is $75 for the same stuff. Definitely one of the better deals compared to the other super bowl parties but for their cruddy beer that price is starting to teeter on not worth it anymore. Always been a good time though! The food is pretty good but again - on a short trip I think there are similar or better low end options. Just head to Fremont for your dive fix.

Easiest way to get there: Take your car. It's a block up Flamingo right behind Bally's. The hotel connected to it is the Motel 8. Don't have a car? Uber/Lyft/Taxi is next easiest. Don't want to spend bucks? Hoof it. About a 10 minute walk from the Strip.
Plan on having a meal while you're there. The cafe is a great value. Good food, great prices...as opposed to the Strip's great good, dismal prices.

Is there any catch to the LVA coupon for free drinks?

No catch at all. We just order it at the bar. Usually playing vp so it would be free either way.

They usually have meal specials and the beer is pretty good.

It really is a quick walk from the strip - and the house-brewed root beer is worth the trip.

Yeah, it was better than the IPA when we visited in September, imo. One of the best root beers I've ever had. Loved the BBQ too.

And like others said, the casino isn't as dumpy as it used to be. Also full pay video poker for as cheap as nickels is nice for ppl like me too.

I'm an E I fan. I love their prime rib. Love their build a burger & very good BBQ ribs. Craft beers are a taste preference but in my opinion the weiss works for me. Sometimes I even go for the steak special. Last July they had a great special. It was if above 100*, 20 oz beers were $1 at the bars. Updating the property is actually very nice. People either hate it or love it.
