From VegasWatch

Hello everyone. I went looking for the Vegaswatch forum and alas it was gone. Found this one and it looks like some of the same characters are here. Anyhow, glad I found you and thank you to the admins who are running this site. Looks pretty much similar to the other one. I went by kwiikii on the old site, but adopted this new name since I just hit one of these in Erie last week! Planning a late Feb trip to the homeland, so gonna dig in here and poke around. Guess I gotta learn who is who too........

Welcome Acesw234/kwiikii - yes, VW stopped working awhile ago. A few of us are also on VMB. I was BCGuy; Bellagiorat is 'luridluculoco' (if I've spelled it right); Chump and Bad Girl are members, but don't post too often. There are few others, too.

I attempted to join Vegas Watch a few years ago and they weren't accepting new members. What kind of forum refuses to accept new members? Bizarre.

 

A few of us were members of VW from the early 2000s. As you say, eventually new members weren't able to join and it gradually died out. As best as we can figure, the original moderators (a couple who started the Board) just went away and let it lapse. We think that it survived on its own until it ran out of disk space. At one point, those of us still active on it could not post in certain forums as each of them became 'full' as nobody could delete older posts.

Anyway, many of us were glad to migrate here.

BC & Blonde_4_ever, as I understood, VW was started by four Vegas lovers who brought on several monitors to keep their board civil and focused on Vegas. I’m pretty sure they had hoped to finance this by advertising travel promos but it didn’t work for them. They allowed the board to continue on for some time unmonitored for us long time patrons but they could not allow new unknown members with no one to watch their behavior.
