I'd bet there are a couple more "big names" who check out before the year is over. It's amazing how many stars die this time of year.

I think it's funny when people comment on how so many of the rich and famous have died recently...

Here is your "Sixth Sense" twist... YOU are getting older! And the people you love, or simply loved to watch on TV are getting older too. People get old, and then they die... That is how life works.

    Happy New Years everyone!

85% of the population reaches age 65. We are talking about performers who are dying around age 50 who appear to be physically fit (and can afford good healthcare).

So yes, it's surprising, shocking, unexpected, etc.

I do not find it shocking or surprising. The life style they lead is a contributing cause. Many die of overdose or complications from drugs.

I think part of the reason it's been so shocking is because some of the folks who passed are younger and their fans had no idea that they were experiencing issues. But on the other hand there are other beloved celebrities who passed this year that had been living quietly into old age and honestly I think folks didn't realize they were still alive. But in music specifically, I think almost everyone lost someone they idolized this year. I don't recall a year where so many celebrities deaths touched so deeply.
