I leave for the airport in about 2 hours and I can't believe it.....I'm getting sick. Sh*t!! Am really looking forward to this solo trip to satisfy my gambling itch. I know this happens, but damn what a bummer.

Was even contemplating canceling yesterday but thought I could shake this thing off. I took insurance on the trip but not even sure if it's too late. I decided to go on with the trip. My throat is beginning to hurt and I'm running a low fever.

Still looking forward to possibly meet Joe at MSS Boar's Head Bar on Friday and TIMSPEED on Thursday night but honestly don't want to be sneezing snot all over their VP machines and drinks, LOL!!

We'll see. If you're reading this Joe and Tim, talk about bummers. Sheeesh.....

Wonder if the craps tables will clear out when I start throwing snot with the dice.....

Not good news. Hopefully it passes real quick. I remember trips when I came home from Vegas sick. We go out on Sunday and I started downing the chewable AirBorne yesterday.

    Get well soon.

Yeah, snot on a VP machine is a deal buster. Wear a dust mask, like the Asians do. Cut a small hole in it to allow a booze straw to go through.

On our last trip I woke up that last morning with a sore throat. It took two weeks to shake it. I also start upping the vitamin C before a trip. Hope you feel better soon.

    Sorry......that is a total bummer.

Hope it is just a blip of a cold and only keeps you under a 100% for a tiny part of your trip

I use all sorts of stuff when I think I am getting sick.....zinc.....C.......airborne.....echinacea.......and a ton of water. All of which the doctors say do nothing.....but dammit.......it helps my brain think I am getting better, so I do.

Happened to me last summer. Went to the doc-in-the-box 30 min before I left for the airport. He gave me antibiotics and 24 hrs later I was good as new.

Hope you feel better soon! Stay hydrated!

Rando illnesses don't generally slow me down, but one year I had back-to-back colds, and somehow ruptured my ear drum! Most miserable time ever, so don't do that!

Last week my wife flew to PHX. The guy next to her on her flight out of SBA was hacking and sneezing. A few days later she had the crud.

I sometimes use Airborne, it dissolves in water kind of like alka seltzer. The Zesty Orange flavor mixes really well with Bacardi.

I once flew to Reno with food poisoning. Definitely, the most miserable flight of my life, which was compounded by a two hour wait to take off after we left the gate at a stop in Denver (note to self - never fly with a stop in Denver in the winter). All that, and I still don't regret making the trip.

I worry about getting sick, especially before a Vegas trip, so I do my best to stay away from sick folks, I try and stay hydrated and get rest. I'm freaking out a bit that I didn't yet get my flu shot. I'm going to get that tomorrow! Home with family for Christmas and then VEGAS!

I imagine we've all been sick or come down sick on vacation. It really can suck. My wife was off song for a week of our May/June Hawaii soiree. She trooped through but she didn't get full flavor out of the experience, sadly. I was hit with the stomach yuck once after arriving in Vegas for New Year's getaway. We speculate I blew up my appendix either somewhere between DC and Mt. Vernon or a week before in Laughlin. lol I can think of others. We've also cancelled a few trips over the years when one of us is down. That never is an easy call.

I hope it passes or at least doesn't set you back, Electro!
