Here is another advice post. I am going to Vegas Dec. 19-22. My MLife corporate offer is nice. I have narrowed the choices down to this Monte Carlo--suite 3 nights plus $300 resort credit, Mirage--suite 3 nights plus $150 resort credit, NYNY--suite 3 nights plus $300 resort credit. Would also consider Bellagio or Aria--3 nights standard room plus $150 resort credit.

My two favorite places to play/stay are Mirage and Aria. Pros for MC are close to Aria, more resort credit, suite. Cons for MC are never stayed there before, construction, many bad reviews. Pros for Mirage are great suites, fun casino, location, always a good time there. Cons for Mirage are less resort credit, far from other MLife casinos. NYNY pros are location, restaurants, resort credit, suite. Cons are never stayed there before.

I am going solo on the trip, and I do like having a nice workout facility and spa. I also like having a nice room with a view that is clean and comfortable. Good strip location is also important.

Right now I booked the MC, but I can still change....thoughts?

Hi Jack! Congrats on a really solid Mlife offer! FYI I have stayed at MC, Aria, Bellagio and Mirage, so I'll take my swing at this.

On MC, this was our homebase for years, and we enjoyed it in the standard room. Rooms are older, but comfy beds. It's not my first pick, but I'm fine in a standard room. BUT, on the suite, they usually put you in a Monaco suite, and if this is the one, I personally found it to be extremely depressing due to the layout of the room. The room looks fine, decor-wise, but it's a small window, and from where the bed faces, when you look outside from the bed, you're actually looking at the wall outside. You're not looking at the sky/strip/mountains, but a part of the building that juts out (at least in the room we had.) For us, this was a little clausterphobic, despite a large room. (And the bathroom has a shower curtain, NOT a suite in my book.) I personally really, really disliked this room. A basic room in MC I'd stay in again. I would not stay in the Monaco suite again.

NYNY I have not stayed in, but I'd pick their suite over MC if you want more RC.

On the lesser RC but better properties, Bellagio, Aria and Mirage, here goes.

    1) We've stayed in standard rooms at Aria and Bellagio. I personally would pick an Aria standard room over Bellagio's standard room. Both are beautiful, but Aria's is definitely newer and "plusher" in my book. (With way bigger windows, more techie perks like the tablet and remote control drapes, more luxurious bathroom, etc.) We've also stayed in a corner suite at Aria, and their standard rooms are nice enough, that when they offer a paid upgrade to a suite for $75 a night, we stick with the standard rooms,. Their standard rooms are flat are nice enough, we can't justify paying for the upgrade to a suite. Their basic rooms are fantastic.

    2) Mirage: What type of suite are you getting? They have a baby suite, and then the tower suite. Mirage has been pretty generous with their upgrades lately. If it's a tower suite, I'd actually pick this over Aria. If it's the baby suite, I'd pick Aria's basic room. (I have NOT stayed in Mirage suites, but will be this next trip.)

My suggestion, run videos on all the options to see what you like. Just because I don't like the MC Monaco suite doesn't mean you won't! (And in fairness, we stayed in two really nice rooms at Cosmo and Aria right before, so maybe it colored our view.)

So, If you want a higher RC, even thought I haven't stayed there, I'd pick NYNY over the Monaco suite (again though, I actually like the MC casino better, I just don't like the Monaco suite). If you're flexible on RC, My vote would be Tower Suite at Mirage...next basic room at Aria, next basic room at Bellagio.

As always, tastes are subjective. Some love Bellagio over Aria. Some love Mirage. Some NYNY, and then on. I would say look at videos online to see what YOU like.

Bottomline, that is a GREAT offer, and I am excited for you!

Since you are going solo - some of the advantages of a suite are lost. I would go for the hotel where you like to spend time. Not sure what you eating habits are when in Vegas solo, so value of resort credit would vary.

I am guessing the suite at Mirage might be one of their mini suites...larger room and bath, but still one room.

Based on your criteria, I think you should go with Aria or Bellagio. They both have excellent gyms and spas (especially Aria). Bellagio tends to have better views than Aria, but both of their standard rooms are very good. I stayed in a NYNY suite a couple years ago to try something different and decided that I would rather stay in a standard Aria room than a NYNY suite any day of the week

Based off your options above I would go with either Aria, Bellagio or Mirage. Here are my justifications (for me):

    1) Aria: The standard room at the Aria is very nice and if your going solo, plenty of space. Wide variety of places to eat and a quick walk to either Bellagio, MC, Cosmo or even NYNY. Also, Aria has a nice workout facility and a very nice spa. Mirage used to be our home but we migrated over the Aria a couple years ago and never look back.

    2) Bellagio: Once again, very nice standard room. Lots of a great places to eat and plenty to see and do and good strip location. It can be too busy for me personally sometimes but that's me. Also has a nice workout/spa facility. Plus if you get a strip view it will be better that an Aria strip view most likely.

    3) Mirage: Suites at the Mirage are nice depending on which one you get. The Tower Suites at Mirage have been recently remodeled and are really nice. Their penthouses have recently been remodeled as well and are very nice. If its the Mirage Suite though, I was not a fan of the layout and the size. If you get a Tower or Penthouse, I would take that over the Aria/Bellagio standard room. Also, Mirage has some of my favorite places to eat and I love the casino vibe. Plus its a great mid strip location even if its isolated from other MLife properties.

That's my .02 for what its worth. No matter what you choose, I;m sure you'll have a great time either way. Good luck!

I would go NYNY. Their suites are quite nice and the extra $150 in RC can go a long way there. Gallagher's and Il Fornaio are both very solid dinner options.

I disagree because of the OP's criteria. Its a mediocre Strip location and the spa and workout facilities there are terrible

Thanks for all of the advice. After a lot of thinking, I decided to stay at The Mirage!

The Aria room is nicer and newer. They are both about 500SF, large. A Fountain view at B is nice. If you are a poker player as I am; The b has the friendlier, more efficient less warden like feel. B is not perfect like me but then what is?? I f it' s important to you: service at B has deteriorated.

LOL - good choice @Jack07 - was just going to post my two cent opinions which are similar to @doubleon10 !!

I've stayed at Aria, corner suite and super nice all around with great food options, but cannot win there after many times of playing there. Bellagio used to be one of our favorites tied with Mirage - good service and amenities, great dining, nice casino but just doesn't do it for us much anymore. Really enjoy playing at NYNY - have some decent wins there and might stay there one of these days.

Mirage is and always has been our go to - we win there, enjoy playing there, we really like our host and feel 'at home' there. We normally stay in a Tower suite (Penthouse suites are nearly identical) and so spacious. The Mirage Suite is ok, nice that it has two bathrooms, although not a true suite; we choose it sometimes as well. And we can walk to Bellagio in exactly 13 minutes, if the escalators are working :p

Have a great trip and hoping you have big wins at Mirage!!

It really pains me to say that I prefer playing @ the B above all other strip rooms. B is the best of many bad choices in my view. Aria is just plain unpleasant and full of itself. Too bad, some nice people there. Venetian was just nothing. Never any good in my view even when there was all the rave about it. The old Wynn, in the Wynn, was a bit to loose for me. Lots of sharks seeking food, working in twos, uncomfortable. I received confirmation of that feeling from a Dutchman staying at Wynn and playing at the B. I have not tried other strip rooms except for Planet Hollywood which I found pleasant but slow and dull. Let's face it guys Corporate Vegas tries to ring all the profit it can out of you and in the process wrings out a lot of the fun.
