    My Trip Report

Not too much info on Red Rock here, so here's my experience.

Travel from ATL on SWA was fine, as always. A23-24 boarding passes. Strong headwind of 125+ according to pilot. Long 4:45 flight, but smooth and plenty of drink coupons. BTW, FA only collected one coupon for 3 drinks. Another win.

Rental car from Budget (Costco), Camry with 16000 miles. Fast break, so straight to car.

Traffic was heavy on 215, but made it to Red Rock Casino fairly quickly. Quick check in and up to 16th floor, first room off elevator, great view towards Red Rock Canyon. Score!

East coast time, so up early (4:00) for coffee at Grand Cafe. Breakfast there after a visit to fitness area and off to roam the strip. Always enjoy the Christmas decor in the casinos. First visit to Forum Shops/Caesars Palace in years.

Lunch at Lazy Dogs in Downtowm Summerlin. Nice place, will return. DT Summerlim is a nice shopping and restaurant area, for those that are not aware. Just a few minutes walk from RR.

Thursday breakfast was at Cracked Egg, a local spot near RR. We then took a trip to Mt. Charleston and Lee Canyon loop. Saw some snow, ski lodge opened the next day. We always sight see when in Vegas, and this was a new adventure for us.

We then did our obligatory trip thru Red Rock Canyon. Always a great visit. Not any wild life, but views are always nice. Saw several rock climbers. I really think those folks are nuts!

Lunch was Feast Buffet at RR. Dinner back to DT Summerlin at a place called Public School 702. Good happy hour meal, and very interesting decor.

Friday up again at @4:00 and off for coffee. Breakfast at Grand Cafe again and packed for return flight.

Gaming was positive for a change. Came home with more money than I arrived with. Plenty of $10 DD blackjack at 3:2, DAS. Won a little at $5 craps with 10x odds (I think), I only go to 5x. Full pay VP is plentiful on the floor, and at Rock's Bar, I found a DDB game at 9/5. Not great, but hit 4 2's with kicker and had a wonderful Bloody Mary while playing. Also hit 4 deuces on FPDW in front of cashier booth. Had a good bonus round on Buffalo, this is different for me. They also have $5 UTH, hit 2 different 4OAK playing. That helped the bankroll.

Return trip was very smooth. A20-21 boarding passes. 3:15 hour flight, much better.

Thanks for reading---will be at Orleans in January to try my luck again.

Nice TR, never been to RR in my decades of visiting Vegas. Sounds like that needs to change

Glad you wrote about a Red Rock stay. I almost always have a RR stay in the mix of places I stay at during one of my 2 week trips. My favorite place to hit up in the Summerlin area is The French Cafe on Sahara (across the street from Smiths...where you can pick up stuff for the room). Their French breakfast fare is the real deal and on Saturdays the Las Vegas French Club meets there and the whole place is abuzz in french. Yummy.
I, also, drive through RR Fed Nature Preserve every trip. I find the view nicer if you drive the opposite way (from Blue Diamond towards Charleston).
Lastly. It's such a nice property with so much to do on-site, good food, fair gaming and great spa and pools. That so many people pass this property up is actually a winning thing for those of us that partake!

Nice report! I didnt realize Downtown Summerlin was that close. Should check it out...but then that means less play time at Red Rock. haha And unfortunately, no 9/6 DDB at any Red Rock for quarters at least. 8/5 Bonus is the best full pay option. And nice hit on the deuces! One of these days I'll find one of those on quarters...;)

Tring---They do have 10/6 DDB (100.07%) in quarters on the floor in several locations, I just wanted a Bloody Mary at that bar---much better with real bartender---I think you'd enjoy the stroll through DT Summerlin--Check out VPfree2, very up to date list of games

Visited RR on almost every trip with my wife. Love the place! This time I think we'll visit Downtown Summerlin. Seems like there are lots of great places to eat and hang out in.

My bad...I meant to say no quarter 9/6 DDB bartops. You're absolutely right that they have 10/6 DDB on the floor. But if I'm playing those machines, I'm usually playing full pay deuces instead and getting soul crushed from my tiny sample.:cry:

Good to see other ATL based Southwest-ers out there. I keep hoping with their pricing, Delta will decide to be competitive with them, but I think they've just given up. I got a RT flight on SWA direct from ATL for $195...Delta wanted $385 (for basic economy). I enjoy picking my seat, but not for $200.

Yep, headed back on the 8th of January---I have an under $200 flight, friend is on Delta for over $200 more. We are 15 minutes apart in arrival and departure, go figure. I'll see him in baggage claim. Also, just got SWA drink coupons in mail today. Haven't seen these in years. Been buying them on line for @$3.00. Nice!!!

Nice TR. Red Rock is my favorite casino in Las Vegas. We're going to Vegas on 12/30 - 3 night comp at Sunset Station with a NYE dinner and band, and New Year's Day slot tourney. Then 3 nights comped at Red Rock. Perfect.

I usually travel SWA out of PHL when going to LAS. Where do you acquire drink coupons for $3?
