    My Trip Report

I will try to be very fact-heavy. So many people comment about wanting to know the most detailed information, so I will give you what I can remember.

I left Cleveland on the evening of 12/13/2016 on Frontier Airlines. The airfare was under $100, direct, non-stop to Las Vegas, so I decided to be a big spender and pay $12 to reserve a seat in the emergency row. I consulted the chart in the website and chose the window seat as it had even more leg room than the other seats. I am 6'4" and thought it would be money well-spent.

    Not so much.

When I got on the plane, I realized that my seat was not as wide as the other seats in the emergency row, and in addition, it is pushed up against the plane emergency door. I still had a lot of legroom so I decided to just grin and bear it.

Then as we started to taxi, the flight attendant (a very pretty young girl) pulled down a little jump seat so we were facing each other. Yes, it was pleasant to see her pretty face, but now I had lost my legroom. Once we were at cruising altitude, she was gone the rest of the flight until landing so I got the legroom back.

By the way, a message to the idiots who insist on playing candy crush or other such games during a night flight.... TURN OFF THE SOUND YOU JERK. The 70 year old woman on the aisle of the emergency road played 5 hours on her iPad and refused to lower the volume. I was close to smashing it and tossing a few hundred bucks on the floor like Sonny Corleone at the begging of the Godfather with the photographer. I do put in those foam earplugs so the music and noise were only a petty annoyance, but I know other passengers were seething.

The flight was uneventful and we took off at 6:50 PM. We landed in Las Vegas at 8:37 PM (local time). We were stopped at the gate at 8:44 PM. People started disembarking at 8:47 PM. I was in row 27 and got off the plane at 8:49 PM.

I walked briskly to the train to Terminal 1. I boarded the train at 8:55 PM. I was on the bus to the rental car bus at 8:59 PM and it departed at 9:00 PM.

At 9:06 PM we arrived at the rental car area. When I arrived, there was no one in line, so the complaints that the lines are always long did not affect me. I went straight to the lower level since I was prepaid. When I got there, I was second in line. He printed out my documents, handed me the keys and I asked where is the pink sheet to mark damage to the car? He said "We don't do that anymore, just take pictures with your phone. Also check the gas level is full before you leave."

Considering that it is dark and night in the car area, photos with the phone do not clearly show anything, but I did the best I could. I had a Hyundai Elantra and it was a little older, but acceptable. The gas was full and I was on the street at 9:15 PM. Things were moving along nicely and I was in a good mood.

Then I got on the freeway to head to Boulder Station.....

I usually like to drive up the strip to Flamingo, then head east, stop at 7-11 for water and chips, and then get to the I-515. But this time I hopped on the I-215 Eastbound. There are 5 lanes of traffic that squeeze to two lanes. It was terrible and I should have checked the situation before I just jumped on the entrance ramp. It took me a long time to get to the I-515 interchange.

I arrived at Boulder Station at 9:47 PM and got to check-in. I love parking right need the hotel. No need to walk forever or pay.

There was one person on duty at the desk and the woman there was going to be trouble with check-in. She was wearing a Santa hat with sequins and kept talking and talking to the employee who was just trying to check her in and keep things moving.

I did the throat clearing in case she did not know I was waiting behind her. I don't mind chatty people, as I am chatty too. But she was there when I arrived and still blathered on for 12 minutes before she finally signed the one piece of paper and walked away.

I checked in and was on my way to the room in 2 minutes. I stopped at the Burger King in the casino because I really just wanted something simple in my belly: Whopper Jr., fries, sprite. Cost: $4:32. It really hit the spot.

I got to my room and it is the handicapped room on the 14th floor. Not sure why they put me in it but it is very nice. The things that were funny were the things height adjusted for someone in a wheelchair. The closet hangers and bar were about 3 feet off the floor. The shower had all the handles and things you might expect. All in all, it is a very nice room with a view towards downtown.

I showered, washed up and hit the bed at 11 PM. I then could not sleep until 12 midnight (3 AM in Cleveland). I woke at 4 AM, replied to some work emails, and off to the Grand Café for the graveyard specials I read about.

I walked in and was given a menu. The prices were not what I had read about. I asked the waitress if there were any other specials and she said "Are you a player's club member"? I said, yes, and showed her my card. She then pulled out a separate special menu and I ordered the ski

Have a fun trip... Depending where you live in CLE, looks like more snow tonight/tomorrow and bitter cold.
