I'm one of those FEW (?) that enjoy going to Vegas without gambling.

We travel with another couple, He LOVES to gamble and I have always thought he was a High Roller until I saw some of the bank rolls you sick B&*&$%^%# bring, lol. Vegas is so magical even without gambling.

The sensory overload is like an endorphin rush, are there more of people like me on here?

Although we gamble, we would still come over from Scotland for the shows and the incredible food choices alone! The food portion sizes in the UK are still generally much smaller than in the US and nowhere near the same number of buffets around. Here, most buffets claim to be " world buffets" but in reality there are a lot of Chinese and Indian options and a token pizza or pasta for the so- called Italian section!

My wife and I gamble, but we would be considered low rollers. With that said, we love going to Vegas. Pools, drinking, eating, shopping, everything. Sure we enjoy gambling too but we enjoy the trip together. Can't wait to experience the total chaos that is New Years!

I gamble a bit but not enough to get any significant comps, so I take care to not lose a lot. Vegas lets me get my girlie-girl on; everything is sparkly , I can dress in glittery clothes, eat fancy food, drink champagne in the morning, be pampered and silly. I love it! And the better hotels still cost a fraction of what similar digs cost in other major cities (is LAS a major city - probably not LOL) so I still consider it a deal. I'm pretty sure I could have fun without gambling but it probably would require more shows and tours, so the expense would be similar, but without the adventure. Glad you enjoy the city.

I have done many trips to the area, primarily Nellis AFB, flying for the USAF and done no gambling in Vegas. I did see many free shows that were offered to the base. Later I did some trips for a commercial firm mostly for meetings and did not gamble either. Only the past few years have my wife and I visited just for fun and gambling. We always rent a car and almost all trips include excursions to state and national parks nearby or other local sights. So our gambling budget is more limited due to choice. Now I can get free junkets to Biloxi and those tend to be gambling, gambling and eating.

I don't have anything against Gambling, I get sad when I put $20 on the table and the nice man says "Thank you for playing, I will take that now", I also don't drink much, my Wife makes up for that.

I am good for 2-3 hours per day gambling max. My SO is almost at diaper stage on the machines:) we are very different as she loves to gamble but, doesn't so much like Vegas whereas I am luke warm to gambling but, love Vegas.

    Perfect day for me:

Get up at 4AM (eastern time zone guy) head downstairs for a light breakfast and play an hour of BJ
Get clubs ready and head out to course for 4-5 hours
Come back for lunch on a patio and a cool refreshing drink
Relax for afternoon poolside or walk the strip/casinos - odd game here and there
    Late afternoon drink on patio
    Dinner somewhere decent
    Show
An hour or two at tables/VP at bar watching some event
    Sleep

    r and r for 4 days

I don't think I could go without doing some gambling to fill in the gaps, but it can definitely be done if I ever went during pool season (the SO loves the pool) and did all the sight seeing I've wanted to do. I know many non-gamblers and non-party people who've had tons of fun out there, so you're definitely not the only one. I also always recommend a day trip to do the Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam trek.

I love the gambling part of Vegas but I also have been on trips where I hardly gambled at all - usually if I'm with someone we end up doing a lot of the non-gambling stuff...

I barely do any gambling, but I love going to Las Vegas. It's a playground for adults! Many attractions, cool shows, great food,......

went with 2 guys this past August who did not gamble once; they merely watched the remaining 4 of us get our gamble on

that said, my total amount of gambling wasn't more than a couple hours each day so it was definitely reduced by the initiative to have fun at the pool during the day and clubs during the night

coincidentally it was the most fun I've had in Vegas probably in 10 years

On VMB, I would say that yes, you are one of the few that likes to go and not gamble.

But in general, I think that's far more common. I know of plenty of younger people that go just for day and night clubs. And plenty of older folks that go for shows and dining.

VMB doesn't necessarily represent the casual, once every year or two Vegas-goer.

Everyone enjoys Vegas in their own way. We go to gamble. We go to a couple of nice dinners each trip, but if we don't make it, pub grub is also fine. We don't gamble at home even though the big Indian casino is only about 25 miles away. Vegas is where we go and usually 5x per year.

We have a number of friends who love Vegas and don't gamble. Some go to only gamble. Some go to partake of the mix. We're good with a few hours of low-stakes VP per day, and I will still play low-limit bj -- green or less -- at times. But we do have some days when we don't gamble. We've gone from moderate-mid to low over the years.

Hats off to you @fischer - I'm with you on the magical and sensory overload, but WITH the gambling.

I am that person who can't wait to throw that first $20 or hundy into a machine before ever going to the room. First time I stepped foot in Vegas age-wise I was already way over the hill and then some, totally ignorant about Vegas and gambling; lordy, lordy I fell hard, still smitten 16 years later. Those slot sirens sing my tune. Love the food, the shows, the glitz, the everything, but above all else - the slots. Non drinker, non smoker, boring as all get out, now I have a vice to brag about.

Yes, I know there is a toll free number to call...

I gamble very little if at all and do not drink, but I enjoy Vegas simply because it is Vegas. No other place has the excitement and vibe for me. I just wish I could convince my friends to travel to Vegas.
But alas, that is a losing battle. Some people are simply not travelers.

I'm only good for 2-4 hours of gambling a day. I usually play about a half hour in the morning for coffee before I shower and start the day. During the day I play golf, visit friends, see new sights or generally run around. After a cocktail with newspaper/news show in the room late afternoon, I'll figure out where to eat. By 7 or 8 I'm ready to play a bit. It might be an hour or four depending on how the cards, dice or machines are cooperating.

I have friends who live to gamble both in LV or at home. Years ago a good golfing buddy went to LV with his wife. He played a single quarter, won a quarter and that was it for gaming on his 3 night trip! He said even setting aside the golf, he enjoyed the trip.
Whether you play a little or a lot, LV has much more to offer than most gaming towns.

    Good Luck!

I go to Vegas to gamble, but I have friends that go who will gamble very little and still have a great time. One of my non-gambling buddies may be joining me this weekend and I'm sure that we will get into all kinds of non-gambling shenanigans. If he ends up not being able to go, then I will gamble more, but will still have a good time, especially if I win.
