    Hi all,

Looking to book my next Vegas trip and I am keen on getting room with a mini-bar. With that, which TR hotels come with a mini-bar (non Anthology collection)? Is Caesar's really the only one? And, even then, is it all the rooms or just certain room types?

I don't think any standard rooms at any TR hotels have mini-bars in them. I think all of the TR hotels have upgraded rooms that have mini-bars. I have been in rooms with mini-bars all the way up to full kitchens and dining rooms at Caesars, Rio, Harrah's and Paris. I believe they all can meet your needs.

So the Julius Tower room doesn't have one in the standard room? They really need to do a better job at providing info on their properties lol

Also, I stayed at the Linq Suite and it did not have a mini-bar :(

From personal experience, all standard rooms at the Cromwell have mini bars, as do the Augustus tower rooms at CP.

No, sorry. So, now that your question was a lot more specific, I called Caesars-LV (you could do this, too).
Rooms from cheapest to most expensive:
    Julius Luxury Room...................................no mini-bar
    Julius Luxury Parlor Room........................no mini-bar
    Julius Luxury Suite....................................no mini-bar
    Julius Executive Suite...............................yes, mini-bar
    Julius Luxury Suite-Executive Level.........yes, mini-bar
    Julius Executive Suite-Executive Level....yes, mini-bar
    Julius Executive Duplex Suite..................yes, mini-bar

As I said, "I don't think any standard rooms at any TR hotels have mini-bars in them." You can always upgrade to a room that does have one.

I believe the operative room is 'standard'. I called Caesars-LV (again) and was told this:
Augustus Tower rooms do not have mini-bars.
Julius Luxury Parlor Rooms and Julius Luxury Suite Rooms DO have mini-bars.
So, when their operators are so misinformed, how can you really make a true choice?

I really appreciate that -- you didn't have to do that. Anyway, the point I'm making is that I'm a TR loyalist, but their rooms at Caesar's aren't as good as the competition for the price. Hell, I'm getting 70 dollars off the room and you can't even get a room with a minibar. Whereas Venetian and Cosmo are offering more for the same price. And, let's be honest. They're better properties.

I stay at CZR properties because it's free for me. If Venetian or Cosmo were the same price I would drop CZR in a minute to stay at their properties! (I have stayed at Venetian and Cosmo in comped rooms but that was before retirement when I gambled a lot more).

every time I stayed in the augustus from before and new remodel and the octavious, they always had a minibar fridge and snacks on the counter...we put a friend at paris and he had a minibar but it was completely empty and barely got cold as the said he could use it as a fridge for his insulin...I have been in rooms in harrahs, PH and Ballys that had them and other rooms that didnt. easiest thing to do is call and ask...

not sure why but if getting overcharged for a mini bottle of liquor is your thing, more power to ya...

Never thought of mini-bars as an indicator of room quality, etc. Mini-bars are a real issue for hotels everywhere, not just in Vegas. Stocking, pricing, dealing with "issues", etc. One would think they were a money maker, but if you read some industry studies, maybe not so much.

Personally, having a fridge I can use is a serious plus. Having a mini-bar is something we almost never, ever use. Back when they were included in RFB we loved them. That is long gone though.

I hated the many bars and was so glad to see when Paris actually emptied them out. I would much rather have them to use as a lukewarm fridge versus something I can't even stick a bottle of juice in for when my blood sugar is low. And I don't want to pay eight dollars for one of theirs from a minibar that I can buy at Walgreens or even the newsstand by the elevators for around three dollars

That's assuming that you think of a mini-bar as an upgrade, or even something desirable!

My regrets. I was thinking of a mini-bar as an actual bar (with/without a sink). I was not thinking of it as the snacks that some rooms have at $8 for a bag of chips. Like nostresshere said, "almost every casino comes with a Walgreens or CVS".

I would call that more of a "wet bar" type of thing. I was thinking of the pre-stocked thing with confiscatory prices, where you stare at a product for too long and it gets charged to your room.

Just so I'm clear, would you prefer that your room has a stocked mini bar over an empty mini fridge?

To answer your question, I can't remember for sure, but I think the standard Cromwell room I stayed in a couple months ago had a mini bar.

Now that a few others have asked, we need the OP to clarify which he is asking about:

    a) Wet bar - sink sort of thing - no drinks, food, etc.
    b) Fridge and bar area
    c) Fridge only
    d) Mini bar stocked with over priced stuff

And if D - are there certain items that are expected/needed/wanted?

Until then, I think we are all guessing. Some of us have it right, some are not sure. LOL
