Is it me or does it seem like it to you that there are fewer big concerts NYE/NYD 2017?

I have enjoyed Vegas between Christmas and New Years Day for many years now, including typically the last few days solo, and have a wonderful time each time, including starting off January 1 exercising (always a challenge to keep it going 1/2 ;)), spa treatments, new hair color, etc. etc. and almost always ending January 1 with a wonderful meal and a great concert. NYE typically has been just as good if not better. On either NYE or NYD I have seen Celine (more than once), Maroon 5, J Lo (her "try out" for her PH show a year later), Justin Timberlake (on 1/1, two years ago, the last day of his world tour), John Legend, and Stevie Wonder for NYE at Cosmo, which was one of the best concerts ever. Purchased a NYD ticket for a Michael Buble concert one year at MGM but bagged it as I was coming down with something.

There are some good concerts this year but the one I want to see, Bruno Mars, is sold out and though I think Elton John is great I have seen him twice already. Sting is fabulous too but I saw him for "free" at a major charity event in NYC just a few weeks ago. Seems like there fewer big shows this year at the major venues on NYE and NYD.

Anyone else have the same sense? I'm at the point now where I may simply enjoy the hotel's party wherever I think I'll be staying for NYE (still TBD) and hit my regular Vegas shows between 12/25 and 1/2 (e.g., Showstoppers before it closes on 12/31 :(, and maybe Human Nature with DBueler earlier in the week with Baz later in the week with some Diamond shows in between). Not complaining really as I guess I am in the minority that loves the energy of Vegas during the holidays (I avoid the crowds mostly as I'm still mostly inside) and the fireworks are great! I guess it's just an interesting observation regarding the Entertainment Capital that we love.

Okay, so I guess I have a minority view on this. LOL. Thanks for your takes on this.

PP, do you think Bruno Mars is REALLY sold out or might tickets become available for the 30th or 31st? I was thinking about what you said in earlier posts about T-Mo Arena and lots of sales by the secondary market.

my friend runs the venue and i have no interest in going or i would ask.

but one way to check is , this is a trick go to who is selling the actually tickets see if vip or platnium tickets are still for sale , see if there selling package hotel and concert tickets and if u can answer yes than its not sold out they just shifitd invetory to make u buy higher priced tickets u dont want or need and off course dont forget about the band , promoter and casino holds that can get kicked back if there not scalped , im mean sold or given away the week of ,they will put back on sale

psss ,im sure beacuse its not finished yet they didnt put everything on sale just as a safty net till they have the first concert or 2 just to be safe as u never know.

    pss there always stub hub

there are 700 tickets on stub hub for new years and u can get in for a little over 200$ thats not bad at all.

my guess thers over 1000 pluss tickets in the secondary market for that nite, rember hell be over before new years so i could be an easy ticket,

the 30th is usually the good nite for concerts the 31st is usualy date nite and u have to do what the wife wants.

Yeah, I'm looking to see him on the 30th. Figured it would be easier on the 30th. I'm now all set for the 31st!

keep an eye on stub hub, face falue for the cheapest ticket in is 185 $

my gut says if anything gets realesed the brokers will goble them up as theres not much in the secondary market for the 30th , u might have to play a game off chicken and see if u can get a last minute ticket or try the vunue for cancelation. but the problem with venue release they will top ticket price so be preparded to 500$ a ticket

Flowers, I'm going to Reno a few days before NYE to see Huey Lewis & the News up there.
(weather-permitting, this year) Will stay there thru New Years, just the party at the hotel.
No big name ent up there I'm interested in. Just Huey & the machines.....
So might be Playing as we ring in the New Year........Hope to be waiting for a Handpay! lol

Have Fun with your Concerts & hope You'll be waiting on Handpays Too!!!!
