Darn, too bad that wasn't last week for you. I wonder when the last $5000 win was. Any idea?

WOW, am I jealous !!!! I've been hoping to hit one of those $5000 scratch cards over a long stretch of stays at MSS, and never even got close. In our recent November trip, I hit 31 scratch cards at MSS ... one for $5 , three for $3 each, and 27 cards for $2 each. But ... I'll keep trying on every trip out to MSS ... as one never knows when and where that $5000 card will show up. Good luck, my friends !!

most common way is 4 of a kind or better at video poker.

there is a slot way but I 100% on it

You must be playing Max Coin-in at a video poker machine ... and then hit any 4-of-a-kind , or a straight flush, or a Royal. When you hit one of the above, press the "service" button on your machine, which lights the lamp on top of your machine ... and eventually, one of the floor personnel will show up with the scratch cards.

I have tried but bribery, charm, complimentary small talk, eye contact, no eye contact; nothing seems to coax the magic card although a fiver is possible at times.

Not sure the payout changes significantly but for example you get 133 - 137 - or 145 coins as opposed to 125 on JoB for 4 of a kind I'd you count the scratch cards in the payout (2-3-5$ cards) for quarters.

Heck, i'd like to get one over $2! Not complaining as I'll take free money but every card i've gotten is $2 (20+ cards in past 3 trips).

Isn't it the last 2 $5000 cards have been nickel cards?

Perhaps I have undervalued the effect of the floor person in giving out the "good" cards and your treatment toward them. I have said many times we could meet at valet once the shift was over if they could use a 40/60 split. Hasn't happened yet but why not. Probably not valet but certainly somewhere discreet.

That's awesome! Good to know they exist! Lol, I've only got $2 and $3 cards, it's still cool they do that though!

I was beginning to wonder. I've gotten a couple $5 Cards over the years, but usually the $2 ones. I'd love to get the grandaddy card once. Congrats to whomever won it.

It's a great promotion and obviously they feel it adds to their business. I'd like to know the numbers on it, because they give away a lot of money and pay extra slot staff to do it. (Best slot staff in Vegas, I think) And its lasted a long time.

Back in the day, we always used our scratch cards as tips for the bartenders. Well in Feb, 2012, that was no longer allowed. if a bartender got a scratch card as a tip, they were supposed to turn it into management. I wrote the GM and complained and this is the reply I received:

"Sorry for any inconvenience the scratch cards may have caused you. This program cost us over One Million a year and was never intended for employees to participate or accept for gratuities. "

I recall I once fed some numbers into winpoker...I assumed you would receive a 2 dollar card, or 8 credits at the .25 level. On 9/6 job, the % goes from 99.54 to just over 100%. (125 for a four of a kind to 133 credits). When you add in free rooms, food , and some cashback it became our favorite low roller play.
