I realize things change and casinos are in business to make as much as possible but resort fees are one of the changes I just don't like. I don't go to gym do not use wifi so why do we get charged for things that I do not use. That's really the only change that I can't come to grips with

Most big cities charge you for stuff at a hotel you don't use. San Diego I think has a parking fee, car or not. A tax for promoting San Diego and on and on.

My issue with resorts fees is that they charge them on many comp rooms. So I no longer get a true comp anymore, there is always some cost associated with fees. Yes, I know I can use RC's or whatever to pay them, but that's $100+ that I could have used for a meal or something else. It just bugs me that a comp is no long a comp for a lowish roller like me.

If have come around 180 and go with those that said way back to add the resort fees-taxes-handling-and resort fees. Is the room worth that figure? If a comp is the resort fee cost good for the type room. Look at total price and how it compares to the experience.

We have learned so much and as others have said, we know now how to play the system to our satisfaction and try to improve as our knowledge grows. So even though it changes we just change with it as best we can. (Don't you remember how nice your spouse's family was the first year? Now look. But you adjusted .... or met a lawyer)

After my last trip, I found some good and some bad.

Good - The renovations of Flamingo, Casino Royale, Cromwell conversion. Having said that, I do miss the dive joint atmosphere of Bill's and the old Casino Royale, but I think in the long run, progress is better. Most definitely the Linq over Imperial Palace, which was a shit hole nightmare. O'Shea's is still loud, bedlamish and I guess fun for the college crowd. But it's lost it's charm because now one could lick the ball in Pong and not worry about contracting HIV.

Vast increase in eating options. That doesn't really matter to me, but just knowing they are there is nice.

Downtown Events Center - Excellent venue for concerts, however they ran out of beer during Boston. Need to work on that, but there were a ton of stands to buy it from.

Fremont - It just never seems to get old, although maybe upgrading the light show or at least new bands might help. I love Heart, but enough is enough. I love doing the casino crawls that are just a few hundred feet from one another. I love the unprentiousness of it. I just wish I had the balls to walk solo into Hogs & Heifers at the height of the night's revelry. The wouldn't beat up an old guy, would they? There are so many choices on Fremont. I just don't get why people don't like this.

Bad - The overcrowding of the pools. It has really turned me off. I will definitely cut back on pool time in the future.

High Minimums - The hoity- toity joints like Aria, Cosmo, Wynn, Encore, Bellagio, FOR ME, it's a drag to go in there because I just don't have the budget to play there. So stay away, Breeze. Thank you, they have nothing for me. I have become comfortable at the $10 level and will even go to $15 on Blackjack if I'm ahead, but I can't in good conscience go higher, especially at 6:5.

Morons - There always have been morons, but it seems lately there are more of them and there has been a recent rise in overseas tourist morons, which are far worse than domestic morons. And the gaggles of moronettes, who travel in packs and would walk into walls while enraptured by their phones, except they seem to move as one without communicating, like a flock of birds.

Slobs - There is no stopping the tidal wave of slobbery, it's just another thing that annoys me. Some of these people look like they just fell out of a rail car or are on work release from jail.

Yes. And change is hard on some people. Then again, don't we venerate the market economy here in America?

Vegas is ever changing. I imagine in 20 years the club kids will be talking about the good old days at Pure, Hakkasan, and Omnia.
Is Vegas getting better, depends on the experience you are looking for. The value conscious tourist is SOL (on the strip anyway). Maybe during a slow period or a weekday, but for the most part
the proliferation of gambling across the US has decimated the comp return -2 from the better column. Entertainment, sure if you love EDM, headliners, and VIP concert experience Vegas is your place, +1 in the better column.
Hotel and room quality, another +1 in the better columns. Food Offerings, again Vegas has some of the top dining experience in the country, +1 again. Gaming, well its the one measurable that is turning to shit due to greedy bean counters and expanded gaming, -3/2. Costs, ugh. All the nickle and diming to raise quarterly profit, PGP, smaller pours, resort fees, demand based pricing, and now parking fees -2 from the better column.

Stop being contrarian by using logic... that strategy doesn't fly on the internet.

I love Viva. I do not appreciate the Greed of the casinos, or what has been mentioned as the bean counters. I feel a shakedown for my last dollar. I am sure the average person who would like to experience Viva would not find it welcoming

Scores if not hundreds of threads here on these various fees and I don't recall a single person who thinks any are a positive. Most also probably wish hotels still cost $50/night and airlines still cared about customers. When is enough enough?

40+ million folks visit Las Vegas annually. Only a small portion are rollers. Vegas remains a value mecca. It's all relative.
