    Hi All!

So I have a reservation at the GN for a Rush Deluxe for three nights. Total is $366.24 including taxes, and with the resort fee is will come to 448.74.

I see that the Rush Tower Gold Club room can be had for the same 3 nights at 612.64, with no resort fees.

So the question is this; For an extra ~165.00 would the Gold Club room and it's amenities (water, coffee, VIP access to check-in, buffets, etc.) be worth it?

There is one extra perk with the cost. My travel companion is easy to needle, and me having some kind of "gold club" access will drive him bat-shit crazy. Assume that alone is worth 50 bucks so factor that into the equation. :wink2:

Think you can get those line passes easily enough from the front desk, and I've never seen much of a line at check-in for the Rush Tower, at least the times I've stayed there.

I stayed in the Gold Club rooms, and didn't think it was worth the extra. However, I was never out early enough to take advantage of the free stuff :p

I always stay in a Rush Tower room when I go to GN. I also get the VIP check in for a one time fee of about $30. The VIP check in is nice because they have a fridge there where you can walk in anytime and get all the bottled water you want. I easily get $30 of water each trip. They'll also give you a line pass with no fuss. They'll also be glad to print you out a sheet of coupons of which I'll always use a few. Whenever I have checked in at the GN I have never had to wait in line at all in the VIP check in. IMHO it is well worth the one time charge of $30.

    Appreciate the replies!

For the lack of resort fees + the fact that the $30 upgrade is included, I ended up going with the Gold Club room in the Rush Tower. I enjoy splurging on Vacation anyway, so an extra hundred seems worth it.

We stayed in the Rush Tower Gold Club rooms last Jan, it's the top few floors of the Rush Tower and you have to use your hotel room key in the elevator to access those floors. The room is almost the same as the Regular Rush Tower rooms, except they are bigger, more furniture, windows on two sides so two different views. There was always water, candy, bananas, apples available and coffee in the am. The room we had overlooked the pool and it was very loud until 2am. I'm not sure if you and your guest are OK sharing a bed, but I believe the Gold Club rooms in RT are all one King bed.
There are a few normal Rush tower rooms with 2 beds, but you have to request them and they aren't guaranteed as there is only a few with 2 beds in that tower. Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks for the details. I'm without Mrs. Yall on this trip so the bed situation is of little consequence.

Question about the candy, bananas, and other treats; are those included as part of being a gold club guest or are they charged to the room if you indulge?

Edit: I probably wasn't clear in my first post. My buddy is getting his own room (a rush deluxe I believe) which is why me having a "gold club" room that is ostensibly better will get his goat.

Having stayed in Gold Club Luxury in Gold Tower, I might be able to offer some input. The candy is usually wrapped mints, bagged pretzels, or some other such item. Used to be bowls of M&Ms, chocolate covered raisins, etc. That changed, and I believe I understand why (sanitary issues, not that I every worried about it.) I enjoy using the VIP lounge for the water and snacks, as well. It's also a nice place to hang out, just because of its atmosphere. Now, one thing nobody seems to be mentioning: the spa. Yes, not only does one get the workout facilities, but the wet areas too. That goes with both Rush and Gold Club Rooms. One thing you might ask when you get there, if not before, is a room facing the south (strip.) They tend to be quieter. The last two years, the wife and I were in the Gold Club Rooms. Decided to upgrade to the Rush Club Rooms for our next visit, in August. Modern HVAC and a refrigerator designed for the room, rather than one on a cart. Oh, also, a way bigger bathroom than the Gold Club rooms. I really like the bathroom design in the Rush Tower. My 2 cents.

Edit: Should have answered your question: The snacks in the hall, outside the elevators are gratis.
Edit 2: The wet areas are for Rush Gold Club and Gold Club Luxury rooms, to clarify.

I wasn't aware of the sauna/whirlpool access. Double bonus! :wiggle:

    Shhhhh...Don't tell anyone.

Ask for Sean, in the men's, ask for Yuriam, in the women's. Tell them Gary sent you. They are good people.
