You're from the UK? They speak English there. Your English is pretty bad. Troll?

Ty--being from the UK doesn't require a monacle, cigarette holder, desire for afternoon tea and crumpets anymore. But grammar is nice as well as spelling in general. HOWEVER, I spelt Fremont street Freemont street in my trip report numerous times so no one cares anymore or noticed.

You're from Texas, we expect such! The UK folks are usually A-holes about grammar.

One grammatical error, one typographical error, one misspelling; I usually do worse propositioning my wife!

    Ty--
What if the wife walks in and sees the topic of discussion you are entertaining. God forbid you ever lost or misplaced something during a hotel stay. "Aha! We didn't looooose it, it was stolen!!!!!!"

Too late buddy. Once on the net it can never truly be deleted. Might try to block wikileaks but probably a visit to Las Vegas donuts one morning will satisfy all. Ha. But if going that far go ahead to eat.
    Oops we are off topic.

You are way better off using an escort service rather than picking up a hooker.

You know, as far as misspellings and bad grammar, it could be that goddamn iPhone auto correct at work. That thing has butchered many of my posts.

On the other hand, when I was a lead Planner & Estimator, I would review the other P & E's Statements Of Work and wonder how in the hell they ever made it out of 8th Grade.

I quit correcting people on this board when I was told by Joe that it wasn't really all that friendly or helpful. If you've been around, you know the gist of what they are talking about. Sometimes it's irresistible, like when I posted "Wurd" to the OP on the "airbnb" thread. Just saying, if you highlight a word and right-click, it will give you the correct spelling. Maybe people don't know that.

I used to go nuts on TA correcting people who used "Freemont" instead of "Fremont", even going so far as to post a link to the Wiki page of John C. Fremont, whom the street is named after.

In the end does it matter? Umm, not really.

Funny/not so funny story about Fremont.

I was a first time Uber user in September: I find the pick up area in McCarren. I type in Freemont for drop off location in the app - Nothing? WTF am I doing wrong? Mean while my ever patient wife gives me that look. You know, the one where she says nothing but everything? "So this will be easy, it is cheap and better than a taxi" he says.

After the 3rd try I put in casino after Freemont and it auto-corrects to Fremont Casino. Then and only then did I realize my spelling challenged handicap wins again! :bang:

The bard says: What I look for is communication of content, not the niceties. Lots of folks write perfectly and say squat. Lots more write poorly and say squat. The only disappointment is the rare poster who has something good to say but can't communicate it.

Far as UK posters are concerned, spend some time in England and you may think some of the natives are speaking a different language. Variations in the mother tongue are much greater there than they are here.

I'm still reeling from finding out it's not actually Carnival Court. :faint: I'll overlook the occasional Freemont, but sometimes I get in a Spelling Police mood and edit. :hmmm:

I have my peeves and preferences, but I try not to get too worked up about spelling and grammar. Auto-correct has bitten me more than once when I'm posting from my phone, so I try to find a little patience and forgiveness for people. :)

Typos happen. Grammatical peculiarities are peculiarities for a reason. But a little effort goes a long way. That our brains can decipher meaning from a clutter of emoticons and run-on sentences and a lack of punctuation isn't a hall pass; showering is a social nicety, too. Language is our bond.
