Are those "silver coins"? What's the content of silver?

Those look pretty nice DaiLun. I think @dvandentop would really appreciate the centerpiece picture on the red cap and the $300 strike. ;)

Those are beautiful! Due to their size, do the $300 Strikes come from the cage? Does a redeemable cap drop out of the carousel when you get one?

The $300 strikes come from the cage. You get a $300 by exchanging thirty - $10 strikes.

...not familiar with Silver Strike...can you only get them by winning them or can you buy them also? Very cool collection...but at $300 that can be a pretty valuable collection too!

They cannot be purchased from the casino. If there is a Silver Striker (no way to tell, but you can go and ask if they have any to sell) there with extras he/she MAY sell you one, but be prepared to pay a premium for reds/blues. Blues will go for $25 and up and reds will go for $35 and up.

Clears will typically go for $12.50 and up, but half the fun is winning one. Of course, I say that having spent hours playing two machines to get my "quota" of strikes for a trip. I have gotten 2 silver strikes in consecutive pulls, and also $50 with no strikes.

Silver Strikes are also found on eBay and at the Silver Striker message board.

Thanks for the info Dai Lun. Too bad, I won't be in vegas until January so those strikes will probably be gone by then.

You have to be very lucky to pick up strikes without playing the machines. I was lucky one time, I was there at the tail end of a strike tournament so someone was there trying to get rid of his extra strikes. He even had a red cap so I bought 2 regular clad strikes and the red cap for $30. I guess he just wanted to get rid of them so I got a good deal on them.

DaiLun how did you obtain the red cap? Did the red cap come from the machine?

Well, yes it did, but that's not how I got it. During those times that I cannot get down there to get them myself, I have a friend (a local) play for them.

The next Silver Striker event is January 27-29, so there will be new red/blues in the machines the morning of Wednesday the 25th. There is also a trading session on Saturday night if you want to buy/sell/trade silver strikes.

One of these days I'll make it there when the machines have the colored caps.

Thanks for the info. Too bad as I will be there at the beginning of January to attend the CES. Maybe next time.

I didn't know they had trading sessions, do you know how much they charge to purchase red and blue strikes? Also, can we go to the cage and purchase the big strike for $300 or do we have to win or trade for 30 strikes to get that one? where is this trading session held at? Just wondering. Maybe one day I will be there for the striker event.

Or maybe I will win a lot of money during my CES trip so I can go back at the end of the month, har har.

    Thanks again!

There are trading sessions at the Silver Striker events in January and June. The going price has been $20 for blues and $30 for reds, higher prices for the more "rare" ones. You cannot purchase the big strike, you must have 30 clear caps to exchange for one. At the releases, there is always at least one Silver Striker who has 30 for sale. The going price is 30 clear caps for $360.00

The trading session is on the second floor of QQQQ. The Silver Striker website posts the time of the event. At least a couple of Hawaiians are avid Silver Strikers.

I'm not a slot player so forgive my question if dumb. You try and win these to collect them, just like I used to collect matchbooks from all the casinos in Vegas? I see you can trade them also, but still, just a collector item.

They have these silver strike machines at various casinos. Like the wof machine you wait for the strike logo to come out and you win a strike. There is a turret in the machine which has 8 or so rolls of strikes so it spins so you cannot really determine which strike you get. When there are colored strikes people keep playing with the hope that they win one of the colored caps. You have be lucky if you can find people to trade the strikes with. Yes they are collectors items and the ultimate goal for some is to win/trade in enough strikes to win the big strike as shown in the picture above.

The 4 queens have the most strike machines. many other places usually only have 1 or 2 strike machines.
