Any general tips, warnings or advice for staying at the Venetian? My first time there, figuring there has to be something I should know!
make a reservation at the Carnevino (in palazzo) and order the dry aged bone-in ribeye i used to not be a big steak person until i had this beauty it changed my outlook on steak forever Delmonico's has a great ribeye as well i'd skip CUT as it was not impressive at all
Haha, just goes to show how personal experiences can differ. I've been to Carnevino 3 times, over a 5 year period, and CUT on the same trips. Every time, CUT was far more impressive, for us.
Enjoy the Venetian , tour the whole hotel it is a wonderful and grand hotel. Stay away from the triple zero roulette.
Juice Farm has excellent fresh juice. I stop by there each morning I stay there. Check out the Canal Shops while you are there. its a bit of a maze, but they have some different stuff than the other strip shopping areas. Have fun
Grand Lux for an awesome burger (and 24 hour dining) and B&B for a really good burger (sit outside if the weather is nice). Bouchon for breakfast is a must! Bouchon Cafe for chocolate eclairs and other pastries. Grand Canal shops for a lot of food options (our favorite is Trattoria Reggiano!) Grimaldis is great pizza. Lagassi stadium is great a snack and watching sports. Get a free truffle at Godiva by signing up for their frequent buyer card. Wallgreens is right under Buddy Vs for drinks, pharmacy, etc. Stay away from Mercatto Dela Pescheria for the love of god!
V/P is my favorite resort and I agree with all the above. It's really a beautiful property, check out some of the trip reports for pics and other tips. Slots are tight and video poker paytables aren't the best tho. Try to avoid the Venezia tower, it's pretty and the rooms are just like the rest of the hotel, but it's a bit of a convoluted hike to the casino. But the pool area there, just outside of Bouchon, is gorgeous. More like a garden than a pool complex, very nice for just wandering around or sitting and relaxing. If you're into whisky, Delmonico's bar has an unmatched whisky list and the bar manager really knows her stuff. Vom Fass in the grand canal shoppes has a unique selection of vinegar, oils, and yes...whisky! Wander over to Palazzo and try a Key Lime Pie martini at the Fusion Bar, it tastes just like it sounds.
Second on avoiding the Venezia tower on your first visit. You'll feel like a rat looking for the cheese. It's okay to stay there once you have your bearings. If you do get stuck there, it's good to remember that at the tenth floor (I think- it has been a while) you can change cars from Venetian to Venezia and vice versa.
Make sure to visit the Wynncore right across the bridge and to visit the fashion show mall (we like chipotle inside the mall for cheap eats). Mirage is right across the street for some good food also, Carnegie Delo, LVB burger, etc. Grab an uber to center strip if you need to, the walk is long. Also very true what Irishdave said, Sheldon keeps those machines super tight!
I don't feel like playing at the V/P at all, as their player's club isn't as good to me as Mlife. However, every trip I end up visiting V/P several times, for food (favorites are Grand Lux and Grimaldi's) and to check out watch boutiques. Grand Lux burgers are the best bang for your buck and Grimaldi's has the best pizzas I had.
V/P has been our home base for the last few years and we love it! Bouchon and Morels for breakfast. Delmonico and Morels for dinner. For all that is holy stay away from Buddy V's. Lousiest restaurant on the property. See Human Nature and then drink the Delmonico whiskey menu. Also try Table 10, Emeril's hidden gem upstairs next to Grimaldi's.
Likewise I haven't been to either for a few trips, but I had a steak of some desciption for my main, each time I visited, and wasn't as impressed as those I had at CUT. However, I can't say a bad thing about the restaurant, other than that I didn't enjoy the steaks. The appetisers, and pastas, were all excellent, as you would expect. I've been to CUT probably 10 times, so have had most of the appetisers, and steaks. Of them all, I'd say that the tasting of sirloin was the best main course I had.
This, but if you go with a smoker Venezia is your only option for a smoking room. I still have no idea how I made it back to the room every night
