PsyDoc...no...I didn't lose my faith in humanity... this was one desperate guy, who clearly had no business gambling or even being in Las Vegas.
He seemed genuinely ashamed of himself after I ripped into him.
I'd like to think that even he knew how abhorrent he was being.

In February I was playing at The Cosmo and a small I think Asian lady came up behind me and stood very close to me. She held her hands together with something in them and kept whispering to me "What is it?". A week or so later someone else here on this board posted the same exact thing happened to them around the same time, but at another property. I'm sure it was a scam of some sort but whatever it was, she was pretty creepy and weirded me out.

Kudos to you FYM! Chivalry isn't it the schmoozy acts where someone wants something, but where someone does something despite wanting nothing in return. (Ok, maybe you wanted to call BS, but it still counts in my book.) Kudos!

I posted this on a trip report about a year ago. We were coming out of the Denny's nearest to MGM. Our light was red to cross. People walked against the light across from us. A car zoomed up and screeched to a stop. Everyone scurried across except an obviously homeless man. He stood directly in front of the car and glared at the driver like he was daring him. The driver hit the gas and ran into the guy. He flew up on the hood and was thrown onto the street in the middle of Las Vegas Blvd. I'm an old ER nurse and I just started yelling for someone to call 911--my phone had been stolen at MGM that trip. Next thing I know I see only one person running out into the street to help--my husband- I of course ran after him.

I could not believe the driver did this. He of course did not stop.

Mega Creepy - but hey, it's Vegas! 2009: As a gesture of good will, Cindy & I decided to take the in-laws to Vegas, they having never been. We use the Showtime shuttle to get from McCarran to Paris. As we wind our way through the neighborhoods away from the strip, and make our turn to head towards the strip, we pass a multi-story parking garage on the left. We're stopped at a red light and I glance up, about the third deck, and there is some biker looking dude, standing there, polishing the bishop with reckless abandon. The word furiously could also be used. I point it out to my in-laws ('cause that's just the sort of inclusive and entertaining guy I am) and they're shocked and a few 'Ach du lieber's later, we pull forward. However, Margaret's shock caught the attention of the little boy sitting next to me, who pointed it out to his mom and dad with a simple "look at that man". Oh yeah, mom about snapped his neck getting him to face front.

In retrospect, being enclosed in the van several lanes over is preferable to walking on the sidewalk next to the garage....if you know what I mean...and I think you do. :wink2:

    Several moments ----
    *
An adult using her child to steal.
She had the kid come over + try to steal my luggage.
I was waiting outside Luxor w/ my bag ---- I got bored waiting -- and strolled around -
not far........but always keeping an eye on my bag.
This lady + child stopped ----- she began to access the situation -- seeing my unattended bag -
she whispered into the kid's ear + the kid slowly made his way over to my bag.
At that point -- I walked over to my bag + stared at her.
A few minutes later.......adult + child slowly walked off.
    *
    *
A young guy at The Tropicana crap table offered his girlfriend to me.
    *
    *
    *
I was drinking $1 beers at Casino Royale and getting hammered.
Occasionally, I would wander over to the crap table and make one bet.
    Return to the bar.
I was doing this for my evening's entertainment
At one point, I notice 2 guys watching me.
    They weren't betting......just standing around w/ a beer.......and their clothes seemed odd.
I can't explain it ?.......they were dressed in shorts + t shirts = but the outfit seemed "odd" on them ?
The clothing just didn't match their face + hair.........they were two "rough" guys......trying to
    look like tourists ?
Think Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction - when he had to wear a t-shirt + shorts into the ( Tim Roth -Hold Up ) Diner.
    ?
I had to pee and left the bar walking toward the bathroom at the back of the casino ( adjacent to the back parking lot ).
The two guys split --- but both started making their way to that bathroom ---
I didn't like what I saw ----- so at the last minute, I veered away from the bathroom and walked over to some slots.
    They waited.
I then, disappeared out the front into The Strip crowded sidewalk !

    Not very creepy, but . . . .

(from my February 2015 Trip Report)
One obscure thing happened. I was playing the Ghostbusters machine and some random girl came and sat next to me. I didn’t see her putting money in nor did I see her talking to anyone. She just sat next to me. I looked over at her and she was looking at the scrolling message on my machine. You know the one with your name and point balance. I cashed out and took my ticket. I moved to the extreme diagonal corner of the casino floor and started playing Miss Red (I really don’t believe that machine has a bonus round! LOL!!). I look to my right and there is the girl again - sitting sideways at a machine - starting at me. I get that hinky feeling and cashed out again. It’s not like I am betting huge amounts or have gold and diamonds dripping from my body, so I don’t know what her angle is. I took my ticket and just sat there looking back at her. After a few seconds, she walked off toward restaurant row. It unnerved me a bit and I was ready to look for security. After that, I lost the mood to play so I came upstairs.

Not really creepy but kind of strange a couple of years ago, and I know I told this story here in one of the threads.

I was at Planet Hollywood. I had already eaten so food was the last thing I needed but my friends went to PF Chang and I stayed in the vicinity playing whatever there was around there.

I was playing a Creature from the Black Lagoon machine and this other lady stands behind me watching. NBD but then she asks me how I knew that I won anything. I told her to watch and pointed out when I hit a winning combination.

She said "Ok, thanks" but stayed watching for a while, saying nothing.

Eventually she pulls out a card saying "I'm so and so and I do readings if you're interested ..." I took the card and said no thanks. She continued to watch me play but said nothing and eventually left.

I figured she was just trolling for card reading customers. Fast forward a couple of hours (and several adult beverages). We were about to leave, and we were in the bar area to the right of where BurGr now is, watching the band, and I figured I should use the necessary room before we left. I went in and the card reader was in there and kinda latched onto me saying "You know, you're really a nice person" and such. I was like "Yeah, whut-ever" and I kinda brushed her off.

    Not really creepy, but unusual.

Im sorry to say but these last three entries above are seemingly of paranoia, no?

    Albeit entertaining to read though.

    Here's mine one of paranoia:

A guy at Hollywood park long long ago was having a beer and having a blast w his friends behind me while I played california black Jack (both the casino and the game I believe are defunct ..object of game is 22)
I was entertaining them w my humor I guess as they kept laughing at my jokes of every loss and win I had (small bets mind you) after an hour or two the other friends left w just that guy remaining watching me. I go to another table and he follows me and sips his beer and watches me. I continue to have fun as well.
Later I walk across the large corridor to the poker area and he follows me desperately trying to keep up at one point he comes up next to me and starts asking personal questions like if I have a girlfriend and such and I was put off by his 'advancements' I guess and ran off .. he may have been just being friendly and a little eccentric so I felt bad later that week reminiscing about that time.
Not creepy or slimy at all. Just my commentary on how unfortunate it is how a lot of people are limited in their ability or means to socialize and relate/communicate w people creating a lot of loneliness in people.

Yeah, it could be just a case of being lonely - maybe desperately so. Which is one thing. The body being found in a nondescript white van just outside of town is quite another. I think, operating in crowded open places you'd be less likely to run across a serious sociopathic axe murderer, but why take the chance?

I was staying at Casino Royale and was going to get a comped Denny's breakfast about 30 minutes before dawn. I went over to check menu prices. The sidewalk is packed with partiers and Denny's is packed with hookers and pimps and goths. When I go back to get the comp ticket this beggar takes offense to me ignoring him. He lunges at me and starts MF-ing me and is way too scary aggressive. Since I am going to have to pass him again I tell security and go to get my comp. On the way back to Denny's the beggar is furiously screaming at the security guards who seem vaguely bored. Sometime during my meal the sun rose and now Denny's is crowded with freshly showered tourists and the sidewalk is empty except for joggers. Even if I am awake I no longer leave the property before dawn.

In my case, no paranoia, just being friendly and helpful at first while being aware and streetwise. She was obviously pushing her (paid, I surely assume) card readings and probably used the same approach on others and other approaches when appropriate. It was surprising in that it was the only time anyone had ever asked me how you know you win. LOL, I assumed everyone knew, or could easily figure it out.

Casino Royale seems to be a somewhat common denominator here. I'm shocked.......;););)

The common denominator in my stories is Toby Keith's. It's just that we hang out there, drink and dance every night we're in Vegas. We know all the bartenders so it feels pretty much like home to us.

My wife had a kind of creepy thing happen there on one of our first trips. One guy kept accidentally brushing her arm whenever they were in the same vicinity. She told me about it after it had happened enough times to prove to her it wasn't an accident. I asked her if she wanted me to do anything about it, but she said he was harmless. As we were on our way out at the end of the evening, she brushed his arm and just kept on walking.

Another time we were there, I was sitting at a table and I heard the lady behind me say "stop it" a couple of times and hear the sound of her slapping a guys hands. I turned around and asked if she was ok. She told me it was just her husband being himself.

There was one trip where a bunch of 20-25 year old guys were there to scope out the women on Halloween. One very drunk member of this group asked me several times which of the women in this one group that was there I thought he could "get." Since we had met them earlier, I knew that they were there celebrating one ladies 50th birthday. I told him that they were just there to have a good time drinking and dancing and that's it. Well, something happened, when I wasn't looking though I did see him getting escorted out by security. He evidently had tried to cop a feel while dancing with one of them. I told his friends that they'd better get their boy back to the room and into bed before he ended up spending the night in jail.

Probably the "creepiest" thing was on Halloween a year or two ago (they start running together in my head). There was one big guy dressed up as Michael Myers in coveralls and that mask. He just stood around all night long, watching the band, watching people dance. He was the talk of the bar and people were getting really creeped out. I kept a straight face because I had seen what nobody else had. When he thought nobody was looking, he'd break out some absolutely silly dance move, then quickly go back to his role as the Michael. I thought it was too funny. There were even a couple of people that asked if we should get security to keep an eye on him. I talked to him a couple of times. He was a nice guy and didn't seem like a psychopath at all. We did laugh about how nervous he made people.

Haha I love that Michael Myer bit. I can totally see myself doing something like that but be more sinister ..without the dance.

    I have had a few......

On one of my early trips we had a table w bottle service at MOON, it was the happening joint in the city at the time. Two single guys, mid thirties back then! The overly attractive female host asked us what kind of party we wanted and if we were single, we said yes we were both recently divorced and hoped to have a good time and meet some girls. She brought a steady stream of girls to our table the entire evening, it was a blast! Towards the end of the night a really well done, but obvious tranny came and started hanging out. I didn't want to be rude but he/she was running off the other guests. He/she was really coming on strong and finally the security guy that hung out by the table took care of things and the party continued. One of the best nights in LV ever.

The other two creepy things happened in the same night. We were staying at LUXOR and dressed nicely for a club crawl. We were having a drink at the Casino bar by check in and a guy approached and asked if he could photo my girl friends cleavage for his "cleavage collection". He went onto say that he doesn't photo the face, just the cleavage. I of course offered his something else to begin a new collection and told him the get the hell going.

While on the club crawl there was a group of guys really drunk. One asked to purchase my GF's headband, we laughed it off as a joke, but he kept on asking. When we were at the next club he came up to us at the bar and bought both our drinks and began bidding. He got to $60 or $80 and I told her to just sell the damn thing. He gave her the money, took the headband, put it on another guys head that was with him and then brought it back and offered it back to her. Just weird. They were fun guys and not a bit rude, just drunken shenanigans I suppose.
