It appears next week will be a pretty good time for a car rental. I get the same good rates from Alamo and Budget. Anyone have a preference?

I have used both, with no major problems, knock on wood. sign up for either (free) card and skip lines. this can be a big time saver if you land at the rental car center when it is busy. I usually get better prices from budget.

I don't remember using Budget, but I usually pick Alamo, as I've always had good experiences. Pretty fast pick-up, and nice/clean cars. They also don't bug you with excessive up sell, which is a plus for me.

The "go straight to the car" option was a breeze with Alamo, I think Budget wants a minimum number of uses per year to sign up. Budget does have a skip the counter option, which takes you to the counter downstairs.

I give a slight edge to Alamo, but if Budget was a lot cheaper I'd go Budget.

Avis and budget are the same company. So you can look there too. We use Avis for rental cars and have never had issues.

    {flip ... slap!} Heads - Budget this time.

Seriously, I've never had any issues that I remember with either.
