We usually stay at PH which is a great location with plenty of food options. At night when we focus on gambling we bounce between Ballys, Paris and PH which provides a ton of gambling options.

Looking to switch things up a bit within the CET properties and thought the Linq may be a good options. For one it is one of the more recently renovated. I will admit the inside does seem a bit sterile, but there are plenty of food and drink options down that way. With it being next to Harrahs and Flamingo there should be plenty of gambling options.

Any reason why not to stay there for a change or just stick with what works?

We stayed at PH last year and the Linq this year. Both have great locations. The room and bathroom at PH are much larger, which is a plus. They also don't require the hassle of swiping your room key in the elevator every time you wanted to go to your room.

Ling is remodeled and fresh, lots of eats outside and down towards the observation wheel and a nice location. As long as one isn't picky about their standard rooms then it's fine.

I have stayed at Linq twice in the past year. The basic rooms are certainly small. It seemed especially so in the room with two queens (King room had a bit more space to walk around). The furnishings are nice, and Im not really one to spend much time in my room anyhow, so that didnt bother me at all. The location on the strip is perfect for me. Very short walk to Harrahs and Flamingo, across the street to Bellagio and Cesars. There are lots of dining options in the new Linq Promenade, though I would say the resort itself doesnt have a great selection inside. Did not try the pool or spa at all. With the way you like to bounce casinos for gambling options, I think Linq would be great for you. I spent most of my time at Harrahs gambling (craps), but also played at Linq, Osheas, Flamingo. Overall I think its a great place to stay if you aren't too concerned about having an estate upstairs.

Love the LINQ. I like to mix up where I stay overall, but unless I'm trying something new the LINQ is my home base. Great location, easy to get around, tons of nearby dining options on all levels... Yeah, the rooms are on the small side, but they're modern (outlets everywhere, USB ports, charging stations, etc.), comfortable, and as a solo traveler are some of my favorite "standard" CET rooms.

I liked it! It's nice to just be in the heart of everything. Quick trip out of the casino and boom you're there in the center of it all, unlike the endless walk to get out of Bellagio. Love Squeeze drinks & I"ve been meaning to try the Ghirardelli chocolate place too.

What's not to like? Well there was no tub in our bathroom, and we had some hot water problems, as in there wasn't much to be had. And if you get a room with a sub par view, well the view is just depressing. I wouldn't pay the new elevated prices for it (at least for me, Linq has moved ahead of Harrahs, Ballys, Rio, and Flamingo in price) but I would not rule out staying there again.

I agree with others. Rooms are a little smaller than the other rooms, esp PH and Paris. Basically a maze to walk to your room or find your room. You may or may not get a good view or even a view from your room. I didn't like the elevators, very slow and busy. Yes, there may be another bank of elevators in the back that may be closer to your room but you may have to find your room first to check for the nearest elevator. Parking isn't the greatest but many times I will park at Harrahs and take the walkway to the Linq. Lots of times the parking lot at the Linq is filled and if there is rain there may be a problem in the parking area (floods).

If the nightly rate is the same I would rather go with PH or Paris for a nicer stay, better parking lot and easier hallways to find your room.

Sorry for being so negative but while the rooms have been renovated the building is old and hallway plan isn't very good. If the Linq were the lower priced place I would stay there but otherwise I would rather stay elsewhere.

Easy answer: There are no more love tubs or mirrors above the beds.

This! The original IP had to be designed by the same person that designed the apartment/gateway for Gozer in Ghostbusters. It's just plain weird in there. I haven't stayed since the remodel but it's not like the Cromwell or NOBU where you are getting some premiums for a tiny room. I'm not the target for the casino but I wasn't impresse. I'd pick it over the Flamingo or Rio but I'd have a hard time taking it over most of the rest.

Wasn't Cromwell and Nobu built from scratch and Linq was just a redo?

No, they were all complete renovations of existing structures. Nobu is the former Centurion Tower in CP, which was the oldest. Cromwell is the gutted former Barbary Coast/ Bill's Gaming Hall. None were built from the ground up.

We stayed at LINQ for 2 nights last July. I won't restate everything here but overall we enjoyed our stay. It was clean, fresh, and we love the location. No CET property is a regular for us, we normally use them to add 1-2 nights to our regular trips, but there are a few things that will prevent the LINQ from being in our regular rotation. None of these are "deal breakers", but just a few things to consider.

    (1) We found housekeeping to be lacking. In the bathrooms rather than having bars of soap and bottles of shampoo there are dispensers with a push button to get one of three products. Two of the products were empty when we checked in and were still empty when we checked out. We bring our own shampoo, etc, so no big deal, but it was that lack of attention to detail that puts LINQ below other strip properties. Another example of this: we drank the bottles of water in our room first night and they were never replaced. Once again, not a deal-breaker, but seemed to be indicative of a larger lack of thoroughness with housekeeping. The questions then begin to come: if housekeeping is cutting corners with those matters, are they also cutting corners elsewhere with respect to the beds and baths, etc?

    (2) The bathroom door was a sliding door and not a true door. These are common in properties, and not the end of the world. But its one thing to have a sliding door in a regular or oversized room. Something else in a 300sq ft room. Privacy was very lacking.

    (3) It was a real hike from our room to the elevators. We didn't have issues with elevators like some. They are a bit slow, and it didn't always read the card in our experience, but the hallways can be disorienting and confusing.

    (4) Clientele - not really the hotels fault, but the LINQ definitely attracts a louder, rowdier group. That can be fun throwing dice at O'Sheas (or the LINQ), watching a game (although LINQ's 'sportsbook' isn't anything to speak of), or playing other table games. Its something else at 3 or 4 in the morning when you're looking to get a bit of shuteye before the next day in Vegas. Full disclosure: we stayed on a summer (July) weekend, I imagine its not bad during the week.

Just my .02. I would not discourage staying there, and I'm sure we'll return at some point. I'd say know what you're getting into before you stay there/

I like what they have done there but I just don't like gambling there.

It's good to hear the rooms at LINQ are better. I stayed there when it was formerly IP New Years January 2010 and wasn't a fan of the rooms at all. Obviously lots can change in 6 years =)

I stayed at the Linq for 3 nights in August. What I liked about the Linq was the location and the High Roller Promenade. What I didnt like was the room - very small and just smelled strange- if you need a desk to work, there wasn't one in the standard rooms. I have never done this anywhere else, but I asked to move rooms as the smell and the noise from the air unit was so loud while I was on work calls. The elevators where really slow and were pretty crowded to get into at times. The casino layout is a bit bizarre too. I really wanted to like the Linq - but I will probably stay at PH if the same price.

Thanks for the feedback. For the area there does appear to be plenty of eating options.
Will definitely discuss staying here or possibly just spending more time down that way next.
Not sure my wife likes the idea of me being so close to white castles.

I'd check out pics of the room to see if it's your thing. Some of the rooms have graffiti-esque mural, which would drive us nuts as its so busy...but I'm pretty traditional (boring) on decor.

    Is that a stock photo?
If that is your actual photo, the room looks really neat and clean.

You mean that not all rooms have a nice view of the wheel? :poke:

When I stay at a new place I usually will leave my bags on the side and take pictures of the room so I see it before I mess it up.
