    Hi everyone,

I am staying at the Fremont Nov 10-14. I have stayed at the D twice before downtown so I am familiar with the casino at Fremont. What should I expect for the rooms besides that they are not super fancy? Any tips or tricks I should know about?

The shutters on the windows let in a LOT of light. You could be an early riser whether you want to be or not! I think the beds are comfy!

IMG_6480.JPG IMG_6478.JPG Small but clean rooms. The washroom is tiny. The elevators are quick.

If you ask for a high room closer to Ogden facing Binions the room will be mostly quiet and you will not get the morning sun. The pictures are from the 14th floor and they have full height windows. We enjoyed staying there in September.
    Have fun.

Excellent access from the elevators to the casino and Fremont St., a decent buffet, 2nd St. Grill, Dunkin Doughnuts and a tiny bathroom.

As you can see, there isn't much counter space...but it doesn't look like you'll be bringing shaving supplies anyway. :D

Casino has good drink service. Breakfast buffet is good for the money. Have fun!

Yup, bathroom doesn't have much space to hold your toiletries. Beware because the toilet it angled so your stuff could fall into the toilet. Happened to me, I watched my toothbrush roll into the toilet after I put it down.

Room is very small for 2 people and not much room to open up your suitcase and get around the room.

No self park, all valet so bring some dollars to tip the valet if you are bringing a car.

As others have said, ask for a room away from the FSE because it could get noisy.

    Now the positives:

There is an elevator that opens up right on the casino floor.

Everything is close to your room so very convenient.

A number of places to eat.

    Overall casino seems friendly.

Minor thing but the towel rack is actually inside the shower if that gives you any idea how small the bathroom area is.

It looks like you can do the three S's at once if you stretch out right in their bathroom. Let us know how it is. I prefer MSS or the Cal when I stay at a Boyd property downtown.

basic lodging with a lil old school vegas charm. don't expect much and you will be fine. buffet sucks, tony romas is a good choice. free valet with tip of course but they are pretty fast. super convenient locatin. when the table games are busy the cocktail service sucks. I do like staying there when I have a comped room or a good discount. the room is smallish of course, but it works for me as a solo traveler. i don't need a fancy room, I like to save my money for gambling.

Word-of-advice: Unless you're a heavy-smoker, ask for a non-smoking room... I smoke when I'm in Vegas, & I can tell you that the smoking rooms there reek pretty badly. Save the smoking for the casino & get a non-smoking room...
...and yeah - ask for a high floor, closer to Ogden than to Fremont, facing Binion's.
As others have posted, for a solo traveler, it's fine...for two? Room is too small... oh, and in the 'personal opinion' department, skip Tony Roma's... food is mediocre at best & the service is atrocious....last time I ate there was on a comp...and it still cost too much!
If you earn a breakfast comp at the tables, they'll try to give you a buffet...opt out and ask if they can make it for the cafe'... skip the line & get a better breakfast...with table-service!

We reserved a nonsmoking room. Size shouldnt be an issue as we are only in the room to sleep. I ate at their buffet in 2014 and was not impressed either. I am generally not a buffet person. If we eat breakfast it is usually at Dupars or the Dunkin Donuts. I have never tried Tony Romas. I want to try Pizza Rock this trip and we always go to Chicago Brewing Company.

Last time at the D we had a room facing the stage on Fremont and it didnt bother me since the A/C unit was loud. I will probably ask for away from Fremont. Another issue is that we have 2 other couples going who will have their own rooms. Is it possible for all of us to get rooms nearby or adjoining?

Me & my Vegas buddy have never had a problem getting adjoining rooms at the Fremont when we've both stayed there on the same trip.
Of course, we're typically there mid-week, so I'm sure it's a bit tougher to do on a Friday or Saturday night.

Expect quick check-in. I have never waited more than 2 minutes. If you are not a BConnected member, they will probably have a new card setup and waiting for you. That was my experience the first time I stayed and the only time I actually paid for a room (2012). My 10 stays since have all been comped.

Second Street Grill is an excellent choice. If interested, they have a t-bone special, way too much food, excellent price, but low quality steak. If willing to pay more, their other options are very good. Had the new york, delicious (huge portion), my girl had the surf & turf (she loved it).

Have stayed there probably a dozen times and have never had a bad stay. As everyone has said, the rooms and bathrooms are small. One tip. I have always asked for and have never been denied a mini refrigerator for my room. They typically bring it up with 15 minutes of check in and I have never been charged for it. Love the Second Street Grill and the t-bone special and love love love Tony Roma's. Plan ahead for Tony Roma's as it almost always very busy. The only other hint I have for you is with regard to parking. If you are driving there is no self parking. It is 100 percent valet but they are quick and very efficient. I think you will have a good time there. Just don't go into it with expectations of Belliago or Wynn and you will be fine.
