Coming trip I will spend a couple of nights Downtown (first time, I'm really smitten!), including a Saturday. I love live music and a party style atmosphere and I know Downtown is the right place for that, especially on a Saturday night.

I have done some research already and the 3 outdoor stages are a definate go. I also plan to check out Container Park and Don't Tell Mama. Any feedback on these? What was your experience?

Also I like Mob Bar, but I've read a few times that it is closed? Can't find a definate yes or no on that. Anybody knows about this?

And any other places you think I should check out? What type of music they play there? And what kind of crowd?

    Thank you in advance!

This is a link for what will be on the live stages all of November. Normally the first of every month they update it so you can see what is scheduled as well as what light show will be playing at what times. Additionally some of the casinos post what they have going on but mostly just the Golden Nugget from what I have seen in following it.

Of note we lllloooovvvveeee Dancing DJ's! Their time on stage is always a blast and you never know what is going to happen next!

Thank you so much! Good to know about Dancing DJ's too, that will be at the top of my list.

Anybody some input on nice indoor places with live music? Where I can sit at the bar or just stand and have a drink. Preferably not somewhere where you have to have a table, if that makes any sence.

I enjoy the nights downtown, and not just Saturdays. my favorite band on the free stages is Spandex Nation -- they are great at playing the hits from the big-hair bands 1980-1989. as stated above checkout the schedule online. my opinion of container park (nicknamed trailer park) is LAAAAAAAME! I bring a small cooler for my room and fill it with ice and by my own beer at the liquor store or abc store. that is how I roll when I am not getting "free" drinks from gambling. you can drink dirt cheap and jam out with the free shows. I like to be frugal on eating / drinking and save my money for the gambling.

Container park is interesting for the newbie. I would recommend visiting the place at least once. There are a number of eateries there also. They have a "show", the praying mantis spouts fire during certain hours of the evening.

By the DTG there are some eateries that you may like. There are also eateries in the area near the container park and even a "market" area if you want fruits or veggies.

Don't tell mama is more for the younger crowd (meaning loud music and sometimes crowds). There are a number of places in that area to visit if you like to hear music for the younger crowd.

Many of the stages on the FSE play "oldies" type of music (music that is 15 or more years old, lol) so if you like the older type of music you will probably love it.

One other thing to note, the street performers are supposed to remain in a circled area so at least they won't harass you unless you go near their circled area. Unfortunately that isn't the case for panhandlers (and religious freaks) as they may come up to you at any time. Best to just ignore them if they come near you.

My wife, her gf's and myself had a great time at Gold Diggers. Free entry since they were handing out passes outside of the Golden Nugget and we then hung out on the outside patio while they had a dj playing EDM and people watching down below. Inside the club itself is more of an open format and you don't need to get a table.

    Thank you, this is great!

Would you say this is also a good place to go alone?

Mob Bar is closed. It was part of the properties across the street that maintained the gaming license from Lady Luck. Once Downtown Grand opened they briefly moved it into the casino, mostly in name only. Early management at the Grand seemed to have limited attention span and it died from lack of support.

With your personality you will not have a problem going solo. My wife and gf's group expanded as there was a group of 2 women hanging out next to them and through conversation and drinks they were all dancing together like they were best friends.

The Rush Lounge in the Golden Nugget has live music most evenings. Jules, and the other girls behind the bar are great.

Say you were sent their by members of the Vegas Downtown Report group on Facebook :)
