I will be making my first trek to LV and was looking to get an idea of what local (or west coast) beers I should try. I have made my way through all the Michigan (and most of the Midwest) craft breweries so now I want to take advantage of a chance to try beers I wouldn't normally be able to - this means no Lagunitas or New Belgium (great beers but I can get them here).
I like IPAs and saisons, no dark beers for me.
Probably a good post to get Tring involved with but anybody with a suggestion would be great.
Also - Any of the LV breweries even worth a taste?

Tenaya Creek is a very good local brewery

Ellis Island Casino has a in house brewery focusing on hefe's

Your best shot would be hitting up Craft House at the Venetian and let them know what you're looking for - - - one of best microbrew bars in good ol usa

Pub 365 in Tuscany Suites just opened up and has about 300 brews on hand, or say they do

Banger Brewery downtown would also be a very good brewery to try.

Do the casinos even carry local craft beers on tap? Not sure if they are supported locally

Main Street Station downtown is a microbrew. Try it also.

Downtown Grand has finally upgraded their casino floor beer selection with several local craft brews...

You can find Main Street Station (777 Brewpub), Banger, and Chicago Brewing (inside 4 Queens) all downtown. I highly recommend all of them. You won't find anything really hoppy at MSS, but Chicago makes a good IPA and I assume Banger does (I haven't tried it yet but will next trip). Plaza has "Beer Garden" with a bunch of beers on tap.

Ellis Island isn't very good in my opinion, especially if you're looking for hops.

El Cortez has had some local stuff on in the past.

Gordon Biersch is worth a stop too.

What about strip casinos? Any of these local brews carried there?

I have enjoyed some of the citrus IPA's that have come on the market, you might want to try Balast Point Grapefruit Sculpin (San Diego) or Dechutes Fresh Sueezed IPA (Bend, OR). You probably have these in Michigan. But, I'm a big fan of Bells Kalamazoo Stout, and Founders Breakfast Stout, props for both.

Founders kbs is one of the highest rated beers in the country. The brewery is right down the street from me.
Sculpin and dechutes are both widely available here. Had both many times.

Tag Bar at the Linq has a great selection of cans and bottles. Some great options from Pizza Port, and others. Ive got 3700 plus distinct Untapped check ins and ive found some stuff there i haven't had. Plus you can play VP and it's comp'd.. As far as local stuff, The downtown recommendations are good. Also walk down to Atomic Liquors, they have a great draft selection. I havent been to Tenaya Creek yet, but i have had some of their beers, and ive heard they also have a great guest tap list. They are about a mile off Freemont Street, probably not a great walk, but a cheep enough Uber ride. Hop Nuts is also just out of downtown on mainstreet, good local brewery. And if you have a car or don't mind a more expensive Uber ride, Henderson has a few breweries, with Bad Beat and CraftHouse being right across a parking lot from each other. Both were solid. Last but not least, in the opposite direction, out on Rancho is Big Dogs brewing, used to be the best in town, but i think they have some competition now. I disagree with Craft House beeing great, maybe it was when i went, or that im in a high Distrobution area, but only 2 beers i hadn't had on tap and outrageously expensive. Oh the Yard House at the Linq promenade has a great selection as well and a decent happy hour, i think 3-6. Im also a partial to Todd English Pub at Crystals in City Center, decent selection, some local stuff. Expensive, but good happy hour 3-6, and 10 to close, all drafts are 1/2 off making them about 'normal price'. Also, you can't visit the brewery, but Joseph James stuff is great, they are in Henderson also, and easily found in bars mentioned and stores. Hope that helps
