Staying a Thursday until Monday and taking the redeye.
Rate as is $69 a night for a Strip View with late check out of 6:00

I get the offer of $59 a night for a Corner Suite Upgrade.

    So many questions.

    Is it worth it?
Do you get the lounge access and does that even matter?
What is the view? A roll of the dice?
Does my late check out still apply?
Can I actually call somebody and ask?

    My mind is racing.

If you do the upgrade in advance, you should get access to the Tower Suites lounge. Free coffee, soft drinks and light snacks.

I stayed in one in March. They are a great value, but you will probably lose your strip view since the standard corner suites are facing the mountains.

There are several floorplans, so exact things will vary, but you will get a powder room near the door, seating area with a couch, coffee table, big screen TV (Phillips LCD orplasma,a bit dated, but OK). In some, there is a wet bar, others just a bar without sink, but a fridge in all versions with ice maker. Some have a dining table.

There is a separate bedroom with an HDTV a bit smaller than the living room one and a huge bathroom.

The only downside is that these are very far down the hall from the elevators.

Don't know about late check out. If you paid for it, you should be able to get it.

I think you'll have to call to get the details on lounge access and whether your late checkout will carry over, but $128 for a Corner Suite is a no-brainer, even with a mountain view and no lounge access.

$59/night these days for the upgrade is totally reasonable, the cheapest it ever was at the depths of the recession was $50.

If late check out is part of your original reservation, I would think it would carry over, but you probably want to confirm that at check in. I don't think you get charged for it until the last day anyway, so you could presumably "reinstate" it if it doesn't carry over. Or was late checkout a "free" part of an offer you booked?

When I called VIP to inquire about an offer the very nice lady offered the Strip View at no cost because there were computer problems. She held the reservation for 24 hours. When I called the next day to confirm I told the new person how nice she was the day before and she was going to pass it on. We talked about how painful the red eye was last year because we couldn't get a late check out. She gave me the late check out for no fee.

Do you think I can call VIP and ask a few questions? It says online only but they don't really give you any information. It also says Please remember to check-in at ARIA front desk.

We booked a stay Sunday and Monday on Labor Day and received an offer to upgrade to a corner suite for $75 bucks a night. I took the upgrade and at check in was given a Tower Suites room on the 30th floor with a strip view. The ability to use the Tower lounge for snacks and drinks throughout the stay was awesome. Upon check out I only paid the resort fee for both nights and was not charged for the upgrade.

Worth It: If you have not stayed in one, and can afford the upgrade, it's worth it---and I am one who does NOT upgrade. Now that I've had one, I won't pay the upgrade only because I'm a big cheapo, but if you've never stayed I one, its worth it.

Lounge: You DO get Tower Suites Lounge access, which is worth more than the room to me, it's suite/sweet! :)

View: View might be less, but Aria's strip views are so-so, due to the way the building is built.

Late check-out: I would ABSOLUTELY email, not just call, so that you have this in writing. 6:00 pm is really generous on late checkout, and even if someone says you can transfer it, I'd want it in writing. BUT, even if not, you're checking out through the Tower Suites lounge, and the staff there is stellar. I've had glitches at other hotels, but Aria has always been incredibly on-the-ball in my experience. If you can get a corner suite for $69+$59 for the corner suite upgrade, OVER THE WEEKEND, I'd say run with it! :) :) :)

I just got the same upgrade offer today for a long weekend in December. I booked it immediately and hope I won't be disappointed!

Have a corporate offer booked for end of January. Checking my email like a junkie looking for this upgrade offer. Have a feeling it will never happen.

    The dream is over.

Called VIP services and she says that I would have a late check out carried over but based on availability, I pressed and she transferred me to the Tower Check In desk.

Flat out not a chance. End of story. Short conversation.

    No corner suite for me.

Don't give up until your standing at the front desk asking them how much is it to upgrade to a tower Suite?
Was there in the spring with some friends,
Ran into one of my friends who had just checked in.
He said they just upgraded him to SkySuites.
I laughed and told him he was mistaken that it must be a corner suite.
Well.....it was a one bedroom Aria suite in the SkySuites
No extra charge over a regular room!!i actually saw it .

So hope is not dead maybe you get lucky on arrival

It's all about having a late check out. I booked the red eye flight on the premise that we didn't have to vacate right at 11:00 am.

The VIP service person led me to believe that a late check out would be no problem.

After talking to them yesterday it was put to me different that this is only if available. That we might not even get one for the Strip View room.

My wife says won't you be mad if you don't get a late check out for the Strip View and we could have had the Corner Suite.

Also they said the Corner Suites offers are for $75 and $59. We had the $59 offer so what is the difference? View of a parking garage?

Love gambling on Vegas and I haven't left my basement yet.:D

Well, if you have to have the late checkout, then I guess it's a no-go. I can see where late check out wouldn't be available for a Corner Suite - they're high priced and there aren't that many of them, so they don't want to have the next customer potentially cooling their heels until 7:00pm waiting.

$59 is probably for a Mountain View and $75 for City View

When I have been in that situation of having a late flight (which is rare as I hate the red-eye coming home) and absolutely need a room for the whole day - I wouldn't bank on the availability of a late checkout. I usually have enough comp nights to book the room for the whole night even though we won't technically be sleeping there. Just puts my mind at ease that we don't have to be out of the room at a particular time.

I hear you about the late flight but what sucks flying WestJet Canada is it gets there late afteroon and leaves early so your first and last day are part days.

Anyways. I booked it. Too good to give up. Getting the boot at 11:00 is only a couple hours earlier than last year and we survived.

I didn't any kind of email confirmation though which I thought was strange.

Yeah, I only fly Westjet - you are right not much choice for flight times. I like the late flight getting there - I don't have to get up early to get to the airport, I have all day to pack and my room is always ready when I get there. Best part though is seeing the strip all lit up from the plane. Just love that - gets me so excited to be there.

You should get an email confirmation though. Just a generic one that says something like your upgrade has been confirmed. If you check your mlife account for your itinerary it should show as a corner suite there too. You'll love the room - great choice.

I just found a thread from March which explains it.

They just sent an email confirming the upgrade so we cross our fingers and hope to get a good one.

Thanks for listening to all of my ramblings.

I am guessing you should be able to get at least a 1:00pm by just asking. Ask for 2pm and see what happens.
Housekeeping could be way behind and not check your room.
Don't ask about it when you check in.I usually call about 10am the day of checkout and ask for a 2pm.
Guessing you do not have a casino host but they would be very helpful in situations like this.

If you don't get a late checkout, you may consider springing for a day pass to the spa. You'll have access to showers, steam room, etc. May not be a bad compromise.

I got an offer for the 59$/a night upgrade to a corner suite for the week of American Thanksgiving (19-24 Nov). I was tempted, but I spend exactly no time in the room so it would be money wasted. But the pics look lovely!
