    I am thinking of staying a couple of nights, any information on which floors / rooms are best, do they have a player's club / special promotions? anything else I need to know?

    I have stayed there a few times on comps. The rooms are okay nothing special but fairly clean and spacious. Food is okay but if you want a better breakfast that is actually very reasonable and good, walk down to Coco's Bakery. Even when I stayed at MGM I would go to Coco's to get breakfast for less than 1/2 of the cost at MGM. I can't really say which floor. I stayed on the 10th and 11th and it wasn't too bad for noise. The casino is smaller than most but easy to maneuver. Never had any problems with drinks. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. It sure is close to the airport compared to other casinos so cab fare isn't too bad. I usually take the WAX bus for a couple of dollars when I go back to the airport. The stop is just out front.

    Been a few years since I or any friends stayed there, but I recall the hallways in the hotel having a terrible odor. The rooms were better, but absolutely nothing special. Just seemed like they made no effort to keep up the common areas of the hotel. As stated, the casino is small. They have a players club and are pretty generous with rooms comps. Overall, the place is a bit of a dump, but the location is great and the price is usually right

    Dump was the word I was thinking. It's about a 5 min walk to the trop and then easy to get to MGM and across the street.{it's been around 2 years but I think that's close}

    I was a regular about ten years ago, good place for value access to the Strip. Breakfast has always been a problem there, dinner is no problem if you only eat chicken wings. The American Casino Guide has three decent coupons which are difficult to use: start at the cage/slot club and ask. Even though they have been de-Hooterizing the place you can still get the menu at their other bar. If you survive walking through the cab lanes at MGM there is an outside elevator which will take you down to the monorail access without entering the casino. I liked the small casino just fine, but you're a fifteen minute hoof from Tropicana,MGM, NYNY, Excalibur. Or cross the street to MGM and catch the WAX bus for a two dollar ride downtown. The return trip drops you at the Tropicana.
