What is going to be the future of Las Vegas? I have been looking back at some old vintage photographs of what Las Vegas used to look like in the 1970s through the 1990s and so much has changed since then. Just 25 years ago none of the casinos on the strip even existed except for one or two. How much will Las Vegas change by the year 2035, 2055, or beyond?

Taxis will fly over the tunnel!

    Cyborg David Copperfield at MGM!

Whatever happens, happens. Hopefully I can get to Vegas more often to experience it!

I honestly don't think it'll change a ton...as long as water doesn't become an issue.

Back in the day, it was baby-vegas, so it had a lot of room for upward and outward growth, but now it's huge. (Look at "back to the future" and "blade runner," a few decades seemed to promise hovercrafts and wormhole travel, but no such luck so far.)

Now, games are different. in the 50s you had one-armed bandits, and now have crazy graphics and mini movies in games. I'm thinking some form of major virtual reality will be worked into the games. I DO think the slots will change ton.

But the terrain itself or the vibe? I doubt it. Progress doesn't kill our desire for debauchery, it simply gives us more options. ;)

Since my crystal ball is in the shop, I really don't have any major foresight.

My guess is that it will stay the same, meaning more and more of a sellers market until the next economic downturn hits.

Then we may see some letting up of the nuisance fees and some lowering of hotel rates.

Well it's all fun and game till purple chips starting to disappear lol ...

I think first all the Mega resort will start charging for more/and everything; we know they charging parking fees, more on resort fees, they are being more greedy on comped drinks, rooms etc... eventually they will cater more to high profile players and charge us for everything and agiain for more on fees. More on more these types resorts are built on using hedge fund etc they will demand more and better profits which resorts will find new way to raise revenue. It's sad but I think above mentioned things will happen more often.

Bargains will become harder and harder to find. Good game rules and pay tables will become harder and harder to find. The Strip will become a play spot only the wealthy can afford...and there will be a lot of them coming in from all over just to party and let the money flow because, you know, wealthy. They won't care about good games or cheap meals because, you know, wealthy.

Maybe Las Vegas Boulevard will close to traffic as mass transit monorail service will run straight down the middle of the strip from the airport to downtown as part of a conservation/environmental movement resulting in the death of taxi and Uber/lift service. Limo's will still provide back door access to the casinos for celebrity's and the wealthy as an exclusive perk.

My predication are they make the main part of the strip all pedestrian. of course that will impact parking, signage and the like so use that back roads as the new "strip" where you can drive and see the signs and all.

Put the parking all underground so they can take full advantage of the areas no occupied by that.

What they als need sooner then later is all male pleasure pits. instead of bikini girls dealing cards they could have beefcake guys. Same with cocktail waitresses, why nit have some guys doing it especially in the toolbox pits. Would be a great place for bachlorette parties and the like. Not my cup of tea but seems like its long overdue.

all inclusive resorts like the caribbean. one price buys you room, booze and food. of course you could upgrade your food choices and pay a bit more but otherwise everything is all included.

Its already there. I have seen it during certain shifts at P Ho, obviously in the pleasure pit section of the casino. Only a table or two, and not every shift, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it expand

I'm hoping for those Japanese slots that involve winning 10000 little balls, then exchanging them for a stuffed bunny rabbit which secretly is worth $2000 at the guy around the corner.

By 2035 slot machines will be replaced by on-line games, dealers will be replaced by robots, and Resorts World will announce their property will open in 2 years.

They used to have these at the Plaza in the 1970s. My brother had played these overseas and told stories of exchanging the balls for prizes and cash.

    Admission fees.
Yeah, that's right...now you're gonna pay just to walk through the place. Why? Because of our phenomenal virtual reality experience. We've completely replaced every human in the joint with AI/Robotic/Cyborg technology...which pretty much enables you to do "as you see fit" (http://variety.com/2016/tv/reviews/westworld-review-hbo-evan-rachel-wood-1201867496/). And probably a name change...hmmm...Vegasworld (or has that already been taken? ;)).

They should replace some souvenier stores with stores full of crazy japanese vending machines. Would be awesome just to buy oddball stuff out of them.

There will be at least 15 giant ferris wheels.

There will be all of the major sports. UNLV will be part of SEC.

Prostitution will be legalized. Each hotel will have one floor set aside for this purpose.

All pools will be clothing optional.

Fremont St. will have holograms of famous bands.

It will be legal to shoot street performers.

    The Peppermill will still suck.
