Taking a trip in December and decided to stay downtown. Would like to earn enough points through my play to receive free room offers for a return trip for march madness. Any idea what amount of coin-in on vp would get me the offers I'm looking for in March? I typically run about $15k per day in coin in on a mix of full pay 0.25 and 1.00 machines. Not picky about the property - DTG would be my first choice but any of the downtown Boyd properties would be fine.

If it is first time playing, almost any amount of play will generate teasers offers any place. Well maybe not at the Nugget. From other posts it seems like Boyd requires a little history of play, before they start sending offers. But 15k is a substantial amount of play per day and I would think if you give the Grand that kind of play, the offers will start.

I'm not too well versed on downtown, but from what I've read on here, $15k per day should get you rooms at any property you want. Probably some freeplay and/or dining credit at a good number of properties too.

I agree with the above posters, 15k/day should be sufficient for rooms if not a bit more anyplace, especially downtown. March Madness can be tough since its a very popular time to come, but I can't imagine you not having offers based on that play.

The only issue I see with a March return following a December trip is sometimes it takes up to 6 months to "get in the system" and start seeing offers. So if you don't get an offer by February, I'd call DTG or wherever you want to stay (their player services/host line) and ask if they can offer you anything.

Again, I agree with the above as well. Choose a property based on your desires. Some have nicer rooms, better comps, better paytables--if coming back for MM then a sportsbook may be the most important. There is a thread somewhere that lists hotel resort fees (if that is important to you) as some DT properties do charge them. However, if you want offers for March, I would suggest making a face-to-face about mid-trip with a host(ess) to share your plan. Then again prior to leaving. If you "guarantee" this is your level of play and it is noteworthy in the eyes of the property I could see getting a decent room rate (if the timeline prevents the system from generating offers) which could be handled on the "back-end".
Sorta like a feeling out period for both of you.

But you have to be sure the individual you are dealing with will be there upon your return as well. You can see from the board's postings a lot of turnover occurs on more than one property and you sure don't want to get the "Well, I am not sure why he/she would offer you that but I'll tell you what we can do.....".
Good luck and let us know which direction you took and what offers you were given.

One example from Boyd because that is all I know anymore---a 4 day gaming trip @ 15K per day is 60,000 coin in. That is sapphire level after 25,000 so you would receive 25,000 slot points while on Ruby (lowest level) and 70,000 slot points for the 35,000 coin in above the 25,000 as sapphire level earns 2x points per dollar in. That totals 95,000 points which can be used as 95 $ cash or 158.33 $ in food comps at Boyd properties. Although you can also go by the host desk and ask for a food comp at "X" restaurant where he/she will look at the computer and look at the amount you have played and say something like "golly gee sure....where would you like to go?") or just say no.

Again, good luck and let us know how it goes.

Yeah, but it also depends if there's a property that you "like". My BFF was downtown and got enough play in to get comped at El Cortez, but then claimed that he'd never stay at the El Cortez.

I would suggest the D, if you can stand the volume level. I have learned to "tune it out". I find the D to be quite hospitable, and a comfortable place to stay.

Thanks all. I will report back after my trip.

I'm not a new player at any of the downtown players clubs but have never given them this amount of play before.

Considering this, would it be better to spend one day at Boyd, next at DTG, next at another rather than playing at the same place each day?

IMO, you are better off concentrating your play at one casino per day. If you're going to do $15k coin-in per day I would strongly suggest one day of play versus two days of $7.5k in.

Take note at DTG. I played JoB there (in the spring I think) and the pay table was 9/6 at the quarter level, but fell off at higher denominations. I don't know if it has changed or not. I don't play at DTG any more.

    MSS is our home casino.

Yes, absolutely. Whichever casinos you are looking to "seed" for future offers, concentrate 100% of one day's play at property x, then do the same thing the next day at property y.

Casinos look at ADT, or average DAILY theoretical loss. One 15k day will provide twice the ADT as two 7.5k days, and thus lead to much better offers.

In the above example, if you do happen to end up back at property x on day 2, say with a group of friends or something, DO NOT use your card if you aren't going to put in your normal play, as this will dilute your ADT and decrease your future offers.
