Enterprise has raised the LDW/Liability price to $49.99 per day.

LDW only is $24.99 a day.

An assistant manager at my local Enterprise told me that this applied to Las Vegas airport only and was due to a high number of claims.

I realize that many of you (and I do to), have credit card coverage for this, but there are still people who take LDW coverage from the rental agency.

    Be warned.

I take the ldw as my credit cards do not cover it nor does my insurance, I have a beater so only have the minimum coverage so obviously rentals are not covered.

I thought my cc did for the longest time until i actually read the cc information and it specifically does not cover it.

    Wow, $50 additional/day is a lot of Uber/Lyft rides...

    Thanks for the information.

    That's what I was thing.

Dewey (?) did a long expose here once about the potential cost of renting a car if you have even a fender bender.

That was one of the reasons I opted to quit renting.

If you are renting, think about the new Chase Saphire Reserve - it has extra car rental coverage above what is normally out there.

My LDW of choice is provided by American Express. 17.95 for the entire rental period, and no deductible.

For those who intend to rely upon their cc for coverage, make sure the cc provides *primary* coverage (rather than secondary). Primary means it kicks in before your own insurance kicks in. Secondary means only if/when your insurance runs out of money (ie it's mostly useless). If this is important to you then make sure you confirm before relying on your cc.
