Lets say you want to dedicate $1000 for 3 nights in Vegas.
The $1000 is just for the hotel room which includes resort fee, tax, and what other bullshit fee they will come up with next.
The food and gambling money is a separate budget.
Where would you stay and why?

    Forgot to request....
Specifically which room at which hotel?

#1 Cosmopolitan for the great view.

#2. Caesars Palace for the greatness.

    Both for their location.

Since rates can vary all over the place, it is very hard to say exactly. For example, I just checked Mirage for Oct/Nov and they go from a low of $49 to $550 (if I remember right).

So, the hotel might change. You are looking at about $280 a night plus taxes and resort fees.

Personally, some of may favorite are:
    Cosmo - a real balcony
Mandalay Bay - only if we can get a suite
The Delano - since they are almost all suites
    Mirage maybe
    Paris
The newer towers at Caesars maybe. We just don't get all the "hoopla" over Caesars.

Wynn is a bit about our budget.
V/P is pretty nice fake suites/rooms - but players club has always treated us poorly

What nights are we talking about? If its the weekend, the prices will vary greatly.

Cosmo and Vdara are probably top on my list with that budget. At Cosmo I've only stayed in the Wraparound Terrace Suite, but during the week I bet you could get a Terrace Suite for under $1,000 for 3 nights during the week.

At Vdara, your money would go a lot farther. I've stayed in the Panoramic Suite, which isn't actually much different then the Corner Suite. You could do a Corner Suite or Executive Suite, splurge a little on the view and still be under $700 to 800 for 3 nights and have a great room.

Cosmo would also be my choice.

    Cosmo or Aria.

At Cosmo $333 might be enough for a Terrace Suite or Wraparound on certain nights at 20% off; if not, I'd bypass the One Bedroom (I didn't like the layout) and pocket a few bucks by getting a Terrace Studio.

    Aria, Corner Suite City View

It would be a Saturday to Tuesday trip so that does cut into the cost as the weekend tends to be a lot higher.

Caesars would be my first choice probably an Augustus corner suite if available. Second would be Palazzo as we always loved the rooms plus great food options and since you are paying for your room you don't have to worry about your comp being pulled.........Rick

I find it interesting that "Cosmo Kevin" I believe it is chose to dislike your post. I would choose Vdara too. Cosmo slots sucked when we were there last. I also had the pleasure of construction noise above me for three days. Keep tightening up those slots, slot guy. Great job.

I would still choose PH because I like to play there and be able to just go up to my room when I'm done playing for the night. But I would stay in a nicer suite. I get the Vista room comped already.

The prices vary too much between months and even weeks, so I wouldn't suggest somewhere extremely pricey for 3 nights. I also don't know what it is that you want to get out of your Vegas trip.

However, if it were me and I had the $1000 budget for a room, I would just get a regular resort room at the Treasure Island because I like the area around there and use the remaining money to supplement my food budget. A couple hundred dollars won't go a long way for rooms, but it goes a lot farther for dining. Treat yourself to the best steak you've ever had, or maybe you can try the $777 burger and report back to us how it was. Otherwise, I suggest doing some cool or interesting activities that you wouldn't normally do on a regular trip to Vegas with the money saved.

I'd go for Cosmo or a corner suite at Aria, which I believe is generally able to get for about $300-$400 a night.

You both sound like my wife each time I suggest we try an upgrade.
I am trying to build a "special" trip and checking out the listed hotels for specific dates and the cost does rise quickly.
The above is our usual philosophy but thought a really extravagant room would be nice but even $1000 really doesn't get you much.
After researching I am starting to think the money would be better served elsewhere.

We may just stick with the comped rooms for now and put the $1000 toward something else.

Stay tuned for my next thread which may read "What wild thing to do for $1000".

I think the choice of hotels really depends on what you want to do during your trip to Vegas. E.g., if it is your first time in Vegas and you want to do sightseeing, you will probably want to go with a different hotel than when your focus is on gambling (or a romantic getaway with your spouse).

Since it's not my* money, Aria or Cosmo.
    Maybe something top-shelf @ Caesars.

Encore Tower Suites is my new home because of so many things I love about Wynncore so I would say Encore or Wynn Tower Suites for ambiance, beauty and service, including turn down service, complimentary pressing, etc. Three nights can be had for $1000. Just look up rates via Wynninsider on the Wynn website.

But, I have to say that a Cosmo room with a balcony overlooking the fountains is truly great. If I didn't love Wynncore so much I would split my time among Wynncore, Cosmo and Caesars but I just love Wynncore so much for lots of reasons that I have made it my standard place to stay.
