Going to stay at The Orleans in November. Just wondering which floor and which side of the Hotel is best to request. Also, near the elevators or not? Any input would be appreciated.

To me, the only factor to consider is nearness to elevator. We've stayed there about 10 times now and have never had a room with much of a view.

We just got back from two nights there and wish I'd asked about elevator when we checked in. We were in room 596 (big room with two queen beds) and it was way at end of hall, a long walk from elevator.

We stayed two nights at Mandalay Bay (Delano upgrade for $20!!! Well worth it!) so we had two nights with great view, and then two nights at Orleans for cheap blackjack and good video poker and quieter pace.

Theres not really much to see around there as far a view. They will try to sell you an upgrade to a strip view but its so far away there nothing special about it. We prefer to be at the end of the hallway just because its more quiet but that's just us. You can tell them at check in where you would rather be and they will do there best to take care of your needs. Very good customer service there.

There is a really long hallway leading away from the elevators there. It's a long hike so the Orleans is a hotel where I wouldn't want too far from the elevators. A room with a good view would give you a panoramic view of the strip but it's not worth an upcharge.

Agreed re 'view'. Rooms numbered around 30 t0 50 will be near elevators, which saves the long walk. As well, if you ask for 8th or 9th floor, you can take the bank of elevators (to the left) which only service up to #9 .... the others can be quite busy.

I think I read they have finished updating all of the rooms. . In which case They are all pretty much the same, and very nice by the way.

OOne of the elevator banks serves 2-9 and the other serves 9-18 ( and both serve casino of course)
I ask for the 9th floor or the 2nd floor so I don't have a lot of elevator stops. I have stayed on both of those floors recently and both of those rooms were updated.

Yes, we stayed on 9th floor, first or second door from elevators - both in June and last month. Rooms were fine and it was a bonus being right beside the #2-9 bank of elevators. First on, never a wait.

I just noticed the Deluxe rooms are now advertised with the same decor as the Premium rooms. Before the Premium rooms were the rooms in the long ass hallway. Now the difference is Premium has a view of the pool, mountains or strip and the Deluxe have restricted views.

I have also had the joy of a 9th floor room. It's really nice to have all elevators available to use.

Room 1778. Rio/Palms, North strip. This room was literally right next to the elevator.

Room 1706. Strip view, literally all the way at the end of hallway, but great strip view, amazing at night.

Ask for the 9th floor that way you can use either set of elevators

The room was nice, no walk in shower, just a tub/shower combo. Definitely request a room close to the elevator. Even numbered rooms have a strip view.

I don't know if this will help. The long hallway runs north and south. Shorter hallway is east and west. From the description the way the numbers run it looks like the high numbered rooms are at the end, but I am not totally sure about that. Ask at the desk which way the numbers go. When we stay, we prefer a room close to the elevators but not to close, pool side. The north/south hallway is REALLY long!

No, the low numbered rooms are furthest from the elevator. Trust me, I had 207 once.

At my April trip we had a pool view room, and there was a pool party. The music was so loud it negated a nap! There was just more casino time! During my September trip we had room 1101. It's a long walk. We are walkers, but that is a long walk. We had to really think if we wanted to return to the room for something, or just buy it in the gift shop. The room was also a pool view and right outside our room was a window that had the strip view. But 1101 was a really long walk.
