So I will be staying at the D with my sister and her friend for the week of Halloween. What should we expect, is it pretty crazy ?

    Thanks

Weekends have been so crowded in recent years that I didn't notice much difference.

Well usually come on quieter times like Christmas, but this is when it worked out for my sister to come with me. Hopefully it will quite down by Tuesday. Thanks

Won't be as busy downtown, but that is when SEMA starts. 2nd biggest convention of year.

Halloween night is incredible downtown! Last year due to flooded control tower in Austin our October 30 flight home was canceled, so we got "stuck" in Vegas for two more nights. Thankfully El Cortez comped us a Tower room and we had a great time. Fremont was wall-to wall people most of the night, with plenty of wild costumes, fun bands playing and a wonderful party atmosphere. Playing blackjack late that night we were constantly entertained by a parade of happy folks in crazy costumes rolling thru the casino. No eye bleach needed for me - we've been going downtown for many years, so I've pretty much seen it all..... Hope you have a wonderful time!

No parade any more. The last one was two years ago. Tony Hsieh (Zappos founder) was the parade benefactor and stopped supporting it. It was a lot of fun - went through East Fremont and included his massive mutant vehicles from Burning Man. We've been the last two years, when Halloween was Friday night and Saturday night. It was a blast two years ago with the parade and all the people in costumes everywhere downtown. Last year the major action was all in the FSE and it was so crowded it stopped being fun (for us anyway). Since Halloween is on a Monday it probably won't be as crowded this year.

Thanks for all the information. Hopefully with Halloween being Monday it will be a little less crowded.

Glad to see they've brought it back! Last year it got cancelled less than a week before due to lack of sponsorship. It was a great event two years ago and followed the same route this one shows.

Halloween on Fremont is a blast, but it gets so crowded the later the night gets. Lots of costumes but even more people out of costume taking pictures and for some crazy reason we always see people with their children in costume. Definitely not a place for kids on Halloween.
